I compared the 24mm versus the 35mm on MTF, the 35mm sharper! (not to mention cheaper )



35mm is closer to 85mm than the 24mm is...

What makes you think 35 f/1.4 don't give subject isolation? o_O

Wide angles are Nikon's strong point, not surprising if its the best 24mm around. But it somehow the 24mm still isn't as sharp as the 35mm... well I could go for 35mm instead of 24mm anytime ;-). Not to mention cheaper!

I wonder how true this statement was, Nikon had many great wide angle primes lens even before the 24mm. eg. the 13mm f/5.6, one of the best out there.

The max ISO I use usually 800 and if beyond that also only 1600 which is rare case. Yeah, I understand very well that small aperture and low ISO will lead to high usage of flash power especially bouncing and i-TTL! And yeah, I only use this setting when I'm taking group shots.

I'm trying to change my way of shooting with flash and group shot. Rather than i-TTL, I'll be using Manual setting. Still learning, need time to adapt as I have been used to i-TTL. Even now if I use i-TTL, I'll be using Manual mode to shoot than Aperture Priority.

you get NPS membership from getting DX00 and above camera and with a few gold ring lenses if i am not mistaken.
being an NPS member, you get err special service or privileges like equipment service turn around time is faster. get a camera or lens replacement when you sent in yours for service, etc etc.

NPS is not a big thing actually. i dont know about different levels though. i think it's more like who you know. you guys know Futuromic is nikon's biggest distributor in malaysia right? nikon malaysia distribute to klang valley. dan lain lain all belongs to futuromic.

but nikon's marketing strategy do not involve in offering pro or cronies or trying to convert nonac pro to nikon by giving them dirty cheap price on nikon equipments. seriously. unless there is some news that i do not know of. hahaa

on the other hand, nonac has offers like this. and i was being offered once! they are a lot more aggressive in terms of trying to convert nikonians to nonacians. they used to go to bridal shops, D700 terus change to 5Dmk2, no questions asked. gold rings lenses to L lenses no questions ask. D3s to 1Dmk3/1Dmk4.
