Spam some not-so-bokehlicious photos from PC Fair.

Hi Aldo! It's been a while!
I also had the same problem, dunno what to shoot at PC Fair, this time I conserved shutter clicks the most. Shot less than 94 frames only. Carefully shoot one by one instead of bursting..lol |

After he chase me off I came back "buat kacau" with a few DSLR fags again. Not like I'm blocking traffic like on the road.
Usually I just do a test shot when a bunch of photogs blocking my view with UWA *ahem ahem*, once exposure is nice, histogram nice, I just prefocus the model, wait for the right moment and *PAP*.. then I cabut and move on. Last time I shoot shoot shoot, then realized actually exposure off, them went one big round and shoot again.. lol Since I've been doing the same kind of shots routinely for every single PC Fairs.... just thought of going off my comfort zone and shoot using manual flash mode. Was a bit satisfied that the flash is behaving consistently. Since I was chatting with one of my model friend, I just tested the difference between TTL and Manual in the dimly lit ballroom lighting. As expected, TTL overexposed my flash by about 2/3 stop! Added on December 4, 2011, 9:57 pm QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Dec 4 2011, 08:49 PM) Hi geekster, sure it's been a while! so how ya doin? D7000 High ISO performance sure is fantastic! Same goes to me, I only do 20+ frames. Not being harsh, but most of them are ugly especially maybank, maxis and digi area.. Nop. I didn't use flash.. Too lazy bringing my manual flash. I only use the ambient light. This post has been edited by geekster129: Dec 4 2011, 09:57 PM |

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Dec 5 2011, 01:51 AM) Asked my shooting partner today on the items he bought lately: No. Tamron VC 17-50 = RM1650 SB-700 = RM950 Nikon Battery Grip = RM450 (mine) RM3050 + RM3450 (body) = RM6500. The body price is higher than usual, unless the battery you mentioned is an extra battery then the package is one good deal done Do you know how TTL measure the flash power? If for a couple of bucks, better just buy here and let your uncle has his fun at HK |

QUOTE(MrAkay @ Dec 6 2011, 10:19 AM) get a used/new d90 or d7000. its way better then a d80. if u rajin, just search around the forums here or other sites, prolly can get one used in good condition for a good price Too sayang for a very expensive RM 4k+ lens that has just been bought. If can spend 4k, why not another rm200 to make the collection complete? btw, how come u all like to use filters so much? i feel like my pictures are much better without a filter haha Just like those times when a new iPad/iPhone was bought then you straight away get screen protector/phone casing and wrap it nicely to prevent scratches....lol This post has been edited by geekster129: Dec 6 2011, 10:24 AM |

Quality wise as always depends on the price.
Cheap filters - Protection Expensive filters - Protection + Performance You pay peanuts you get peanuts. Depends on your requirement. This post has been edited by geekster129: Dec 6 2011, 10:32 AM |

QUOTE(MrAkay @ Dec 6 2011, 10:33 AM) okay lah, i think when i get my G lenses then only i think of using top end filters. for now my lens all very pendek & slim.. no need filter also haha Hehe... now I use my cheap and good ol' 50mm f/1.8 lens only use Kenko filters also mar....btw in ur opinion lah, which is the best performing filter brands? Hoya? B&W? its easy to find used d90 nowadays, its like all over the used market haha Maybe later when I really plan to buy N lens, then I'll buy Hoya or B+W. Added on December 6, 2011, 10:50 am QUOTE(celciuz @ Dec 6 2011, 10:47 AM) Using an UV filter will not improve image quality, it will degrade. But the differences between a cheap filter versus a good filter is how much IQ would deteriorate. Very funny, that day I went for a B+W free seminar, the marketing guy from Germany kept selling B+W filters like he's selling BMW cars... lolI would say B+W XS-Pro, excellent optics. Very little degrade in terms of image quality. Hoya HD otherwise is also good. (I have 2 Hoya HD and 1 XS-Pro on my lens). This post has been edited by geekster129: Dec 6 2011, 10:50 AM |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Dec 11 2011, 11:02 AM) These are the easiest to obtain... just expose correctly and you get it... nothing special. What's special is those strobist ones... those are hard to replicate. (aiming to shoot those now xD) I agree. Strobes are much harder to play than ambient light... Damn later will be doing studio shoot again. Hopefully can apply what Ted Adnan taught...lolz |

I just need a good full frame body, don't mind if D700 price drops and get it.

QUOTE(celciuz @ Dec 12 2011, 11:15 AM) If the D800 price goes up, say RM10~RM12k, D700 price eventually will go up due to demand > supply when it is discontinued. Better grab one now Yeah, don't think I can afford those badass light monster... That's why I'm still considering D700 as my next FF body. |

Not sure about DSLR, but my experience with bringing camera to cold places was back then bringing my Canon Powershot PnS camera to USA and it was -9 deg. So far, it can operate without any issues.

I would take 11-16 if I can on a DX body. 18-105 still feels tight to me.

Jared Polin says its a great wedding camera, Dom Bower says it's not for wedding...
I think if bring this camera to shoot wedding, it's going to be a DSLR king man!!! Extreme High ISO performance, Burst rate like M16.... your imagination and creativity is the limits... But if your imagination can be wild, wow! I'm waiting to see such works with this awesome camera. This post has been edited by geekster129: Jan 7 2012, 04:52 PM |
