To all sifus, My current rig, CPU - Core 2 Duo 2.6ghz GPU - Sapphire Radeon HD5770 1GB RAM - 4GB DDR3 System - Win 7 64bit I know this rig isnt recommended for BF3...i'm kinda in a tight budget now so if possible I dont want to spend so much cos I'm eyeing Alienware next year. To play BF3 smoothly irregardless of low,mid or high setting, do i need to change the whole rig or I can make do with a new processor, say like i3 or i5 ? I dont mind my graphic setting at mid or high. I just wanna play BF3 smoothly for now, well at least decent smoothness. Thx for all your advise in advance. Cheers !!!

you have 2 options; buy overpriced alienware laptops/desktops or build your own which gives much performance at the price of alienware brand

hey bro, juz to let u know. my friend's decent old rig has a C2D slower than yours (~2.3GHz), but he has a 9800GTX. He claims that the gameplay is quite smooth, maybe hovering around 30fps+ with occasional lag spikes, a few settings at high but mostly low. Not sure about his screen resolution though. I cant be sure though since the smoothness is based on visual experience, which is subjective, rather than the actual fps given. But regardless of what you do, I hope that u stay away from alienware cuz' it's definitely not that worthy

i3 530 + HD5750
1280x720, all low
minimum 60 fps.
I'm no longer using that gc though. But its a decent entry-level card.
