QUOTE(skydrake @ Feb 1 2012, 12:18 PM) Most of the products are essentially the same thing except for some which is targeted for skin/hair treatment. Those listed in the first section are all virgin coconut oil only in different sizes and the addition of vitamin E. Those with vitamin E are more expensive because vitamin E are expensive and have many other benefits which enhances the body's immune system. However you can just try the one without vitamin E if your condition is not bad. Psoriasis are characterized by inflammation, the anti-inflammatory properties of coconut oil make this a perfect treatment option. Unprocessed virgin coconut oil is most effective and can be applied directly to the affected area of skin. Of course your lifestyle is the most important in controlling it. For example, eating too many omega-6 fatty acids (found in many polyunsaturated fats and used in pre-packaged foods poor in whole food vitamins) promotes inflammation. In addition, scratching skin lesions enhances inflammation and prevents healing. Finally, drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, and overeating all promote skin inflammation can counteract the healing effects of coconut oil. I also used to have skin problems so I understand your difficulty especially those treatment that doesnt work. I cannot guarantee that once using vco your condition will go away but for me it does improve the condition. |

QUOTE(XterNalz @ Feb 1 2012, 04:33 PM) The only thing that works for me is traditional chinese medicine. My TCM doctor is very experienced, the first time he saw my symptoms, he said I just need to keep my body cooling (in terms of TCM) then the body will have the right environment to heal it by itself. More plain water, sleep early, lots of fibre (others like carbo/protein just keep them limited), take a lot of cooling foods (cincau/ coconut water/ herbal tea/ small bittergourd juice). After 6 months of good practice and intake of his medicine, I only have some tiny/thin scales left on my scalp. (no other body parts, it has been so long since I face serious itchiness) Also, I can now gain some body weight (before this, I was turning so skinny, no matter how I eat last time, i could not gain weight). Yes the most important is diet. Cant agree more on that. Supplement or medicine all of them are taken into your body through diet and circulated to your body through bloof flow. If you eat the correct food, then its the same as taking supplements because essentially supplements are food just higher concentration of the good stuff. Food contains those good stuff but not in high concentration. Its a mixture of alittle bit of this and that.*No, I don't rely on topical stuffs like creams/ointment/steroid/soap, they are worthless. Even those who take supplements, medicines, vitamins if they dont control their diet its useless. For topical stuff, they absorb through the skin. Depends on your condition some disease work better through topical application because it affects the skin. |
