Dis year there's only one person in ny school who takes eng lit, so it's alright for u to take it alone..
N regarding the +1 prob, the school will ask u to make the choice of putting wat sub as ur extra sub, so u can juz take Chinese out n put eng lit in.

I have friends taking 11 subjects in school this year but the school didn't ask what subject he wants
to put it in the official lists and the extra subjects list.  sad.gif

Yes I don't have confidence in my mother tongue.
*
if dis is the case, u need 2 consult ur school, coz in my school we have the right to choose which is the extra subject and it'll be stated clearly in the exam slip.

DO NOT DROP CHINESE!
So wat if u cant get an A? at least u've tried hard..PLS, if everyone acts like dis, one day the government will juz say okay since only such a small amount of ppl take chinese, we'll juz abolish it! tiada permintaan..

Btw, the only student who takes eng lit at 1st planned to put chinese as her extra sub..
n u noe wat she got for her trials for Chinese? the 2nd highest mark in the whole form!!
u never noe wat u can achieve untill u've work for it!
it's not as hard as u think..

No , I did not . Why should I take it in order to know if Chinese STPM is harder than FM T in STPM ? Statistics does that for me . Then again , do you need to take STPM in order to know if its harder than SPM ?

It is now clear to me that you do not know anything about SPM Chinese . So I really think you should not argue about this matter .  blush.gif

What I was referring to is not the mark to score an A for Chinese . It is about the difficulty of that particular subject .
But since you know nothing about Chinese in SPM , there's nothing I can do .
You just don't get my point . Did I say anything about Chinese in university ?
Chinese language in universities are the basic ones , how to read and write simple words / sentences . You can't compare that to Chinese in SPM . Again , reread my point about interpreting classical texts .  sweat.gif

I am baffled by the fact that you can suddenly divert your argument towards the Wright Brothers .
Consider this : The Wright Brothers were completely passionate about engineering . If they did not have the passion , do you think we'll have aeroplanes ? This brings up the point about your *interest* .

Think again .  wink.gif

*p/s : Without planes , we don't need to swim over the ocean , we have ships .  doh.gif

You get brainwashed already........Chinese is not difficult, it is a very interesting subject indeed......Wright brothers did that because of interest, so, as a Chinese, you are not interested in your mother tongue??????? You are not interested in your China history and your literature?????

Stop your propagation about Chinese is tough.......You dont take Chinese is your own problem, dont ruin other's mind who still have to take Chinese..........

PS: For those taking Chinese for next year SPM, ask yourself what is your problem with Chinese, what is there so difficult. Finally what can you do to overcome all these problems.........Dont sitting there talking about Chinese is tough but nothing can be done just like someone here.......Dont whine only........it contributes nothing to your problem.....

haha u two r cute! btw maximR, u r a CHinese rite? have u ever studied in chinese schools?
i'm taking my SPM dis year, taking Chinese too.. bout the interpreting of the classical texts, actually it's quite beneficial!
through dat we can learn those folk tales n most importantly the real beauty of Chinese words..imagine those days ppl can understand others by only a few words n nowadays ppl need 2 write a whole long paragraph juz to express the same thing!
it may not be useful in daily life, but learning to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of it makes it totally worth it!
U noe, it's true dat the ques r tough, but the main cause of y so little ppl get A+ is bcoz the adjusting of the marks..
it's not really the ques fault, or the marker fault..
if we really noe it's their tactics to force us to give up Chinese, y follow their wish??

The problem is students do not comprehend the literature part, lack of exposure, I hope some publishers can come out with reading materials that comprise Chinese literature.........

there r sufficient reference books for dat... more den enough for me to finish all b4 SPM! >.<

^extremist detected.
I read through the whole post, have no idea how it relates to "gov force us to give up Chinese".
=> I have Tw, and Hk friends. guess what, they dont even know what the hell is the classical chinese context about,
some even failed chinese. Does that have anything to do with being "chinese" ? lol

As far as I am aware, Malaysian education is politicised, but that has nothing to do this topic.
try your best to sway back on topic pls.

lol.

haha i noe it's ad out of topic..but i juz cant accept the fact dat chinese is giving up chinese!!
classical texts only take up a small part in the paper, n u people always elaborate on dat part to make it sounds so diff..
give up juz bcoz it's tough? dat's not a nice attitude for life..
and erm..frankly speaking, not only tw n hk ppl, lots ppl nowadays ad gave up on their traditions...for globalisation..
we strongly encourage ppl to hold on to the subject..bcocz it may/most likely be our last chance to learn our mother tongue in school n in life..
