Looking for a pouch or holster to carry the Note around, otherwise it'll be in the Muzetto pocket.

Looking if this is available locally.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180753381765?ssP...984.m1432.l2649

Am pretty happy with the Note as it is, without a case. Would like that Samsung logo at the back to show anyway, otherwise people may mistake me carrying an old fat iPaQ at first glance. tongue.gif
*
for me... i'm looking for a case that's 'rubbery' to give me a better grip. previously with sgs2, i was using ultra silke but i won't be using this one again for note (when they come out with one) coz i noticed it started getting 'loose' after 2-3months. it would have been 'perfect' if the battery cover for the flip case had a rubbery coating.

just sharing what quick tests should be done when getting a new unit. this is what i did and i think its sufficient to cover the basics.

1. from the keypad, dial *#0*#.
2. press RED and see if there's any odd colour standing out. this is an indication of dead pixel.
3. press GREEN and see if there's any odd colour standing out. this is an indication of dead pixel.
4. press BLUE and see if there's any odd colour standing out. this is an indication of dead pixel.
5. press S-PEN TEST and then using the pen, draw on the grid boxes. if you can draw and 'light' up the boxes, it means the screen and pen is fine.

you could also try out the other tests... but for me... the above is good enough. the rest... can claim warranty la... but of course should also check for physical damages, etc... smile.gif

if i'm not mistaken, the apps that came with the Note (like the photo editor with the added pen function), etc... they could all be copied over to another Samsung device (like say SGS2) and should work just fine, right?

Doesn't really matter. Android is different from Windows. Loaded into memory doesn't mean they're running. For apps like the email app, just turn off auto-update/auto-sync.

sorry... but you're sure about the above? i consider myself a newbie when it comes to android. any further reading (URL) in regards to the above is welcomed. wanna read and understand the internal workings of android.

is anyone having screen problem with samsung galaxy note?  unsure.gif

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336187
*
i thought this is 'normal'. have seen this even on sgs2. usually happens when i'm scrolling... with white background.

i noticed it happens only when the screen brightness is set to a low level.

thought it was an 'amoled' thingy...

confirmed S-Pen works on HP 2740p notebooks. this notebook is also a 'tablet' and comes with a similar pen. Yes, the pen also works on Note. smile.gif

Create an account at www.Samsung.com/my. Then log into that Samsung sync option. Open www.samsungdive.com. Log into that with the same credentials. You can now track your Samsung device, call or send remote SMS via the Web browser or remote wipe/lock the phone.
*
just tried out samsung dive... it's improved. the last time i used it on sgs2... could not even enter my phone number. now can... cool. smile.gif

update1:
i tot the process is register your samsung account on the phone. wait for a while. then login to samsung dive with the details you entered during registration (on the phone).

Will test out this RM9 SP intensively with S Pen in the coming days/weeks to see whether it can withstand the prolong use of stylus.

@KKW: I think I will just cut off the corner that is being bent.  biggrin.gif  Just using it for short term use as the casing I am getting later - case-mate, SGP, otterbox or whatever should have come with a free SP.  laugh.gif
*
rm9 only leh... dun work, but another lor... i still boh song and heartpain when i think back about my SP -- still dunno how i could have agreed to buy it -- rm60 which i think is overpriced. i dun think its supposed to be more than rm20.

hmmm... i think Adobe Flash is not working on my phone... When i view some websites... it just takes 'forever' to load that section.

even embedded youtube is not working.

any suggestions on what settings to look out for on the browser? currently:
* javascript is enabled
* enable plugin is always on.
* adobe flass 11 installed

update1:
scratch that... was reluctant to clear cache, etc on browser coz was lazy to re-enter passwords, etc... but decided to try it out... clear everything and it works now. smile.gif

Suddenly  my android OS runs very high... Anybody know why???
Yesterday it just run at 31 - 35 % only... Even lower than that...

[attachmentid=2551070]
*
actually... if i remember correctly, the stats shown there is all relative. if your phone is not doing anything... chances are, your Android OS would end up with usage of 80%. but what is 80% if battery consumed is only 5%?

if you use more applications, etc... very sure the % will then even out properly.

dun think too much about stats using the method you highlighted.

any sifu can better explain it...? smile.gif

I see lots of people monitoring battery, monitoring misbehaving apps, flashing ROM here and there in the name of trying to save battery or checking which one is smoother than the other, etc.....when do you guys start USING the Note? There will come a time where the constant monitoring and tweaking has to stop and you start "using" your Note isn't it? Stick with A ROM/configuration, tweak it properly ONCE, and be done with.

When does the tweaking stops and the using starts? rolleyes.gif
*
true... similar to sgs2, i see similar comments about flashing, etc... like its an almost daily/ weekly activity. the phone gets flashed more often than being used as a phone... but i guess being flashed still means the phone is being used. only not as a phone... lol...

Ouch... The usage go along with it...  whistling.gif

Maybe for those who already familiar with Android, They will be have no problem but for a first timer like me, I would like to explore until I know the phone very well... Tweaking the is one area of it...
*
i consider myself very new to android. my opinion is... as first timer... i use the phone as it is first. use it for months... then know what i like or dislike... then only start to look for solutions that addresses my likes and dislikes.

Anywhere? That's why when you first turn on your Android device, it'll do a media search running.

Plus if you use third party media players, you can point it to a folder you created on a particular location. As for photos, you can place them anywhere, and Gallery will cull them together based on their location.
*
i noticed that for songs and using the stock music player...
* on SD card, you can put it anywhere
* on phone, its the music folder located inside Samsung folder.

songs located in these folders will get 'recognised' by the player.

i found out last night... coz i placed some songs i wanted as ringtones in the ringtones folder. the stock music player would not detect them. but i could go to the ringtone folder, click and play the songs.

i was going to say phone rosak... but ya... now that you mentioned this... i recall a lock screen sound which i normally have it disabled. so never noticed there's a sound when putting the phone to sleep.

I thought when i buy this phone my life can take an easy path of quiet and peaceful thread but boy., am i wrong. With only two and three custom roms available for Note, this thread becomes chaos already ~~lolol~~

check battery temp... i think something like about phone... then status. you should be able to see battery temp as well as charge left.

i'd say is quite normal when playing graphic intensive games.
