Hi guys.

I have a question in general. I have two amps RF T-1000.1 bdCP and RF T500.1 bdCP. Let's say i'm going for sq setup. Which amp should be better for powering a subwoofer. Is the "bigger the better" rule apply here?

Cheers...

Yeah. If SPL it sure does. But u know lah. Buying sub that can support 1000rms. Expensive ooo...

If the 500rms is enough. Than better to stick to it. Rite? But my concern is whether the 500 could get the deep, low base as compared to the 1000. If u can get the same deep, punchy low base, with lower power ( maybe with a bit of tuning and setting) then why bother with higher power rating.

I like to hear all kinds of music at low and moderate volume. But deep, low base is a must. Thats why SPL is not for me. Well... Of course i would like to blast my system. But only for the sake of showing off. Not all the time. Hehehe...

Sub? Nope. Spent too much on ICE already laa.. Have to start saving back. Hehehe...

But really miss the bass la. Dunno until when can tahan subless (dear GOD, please give me strength not to use those plastic money). Hehehe... Yes component have bass. But good at 50% volume and above. How long can hear?

Im thinking of either JL or RF subs. already heard RF P3 (single and double 12" and even single 15). Well... For me can say ok lah (maybe setting not to my taste kot?) but T1.... Heard one 15", ported. Hmmm. Nice buggers. Damn. Nice on your pockets too. Hahaha... What to do. Can only drool...

But I nevet heard any JL in action before. Anybody in penang have them installed. Want to audit. Hehehe...

the more powerful one easier to sell i think, keep the less powerful one.  usually sq subs dont require so much power one.  can use the money from the bigger amp to get amp for your components..

Ah. Bro zennn. Remember me? From autoworld asking components for the T-600.2?

Components installed already. Morel tempo 6. Really love them...

Seriously. Have at hand the 1000 and 500. But what i understand. Sq doesnt need to blast rite. Hence the smaller should suffice. Rite?

Bro, if can sell i would sell the smaller one and use the money to buy RF T1 sub (have to top up a bit la). Oni thing is its smuggled. Afraid leh...

Say. Why do all my friends sub sounded like boommmm boommmmm boommmmmmm.... Whats with the mmmmmm sound? Sorry. I dunno how to do describe in words. Really.

I prefer bass like boom bomm boom only. No sinus problem. How?

lots of subs out there  = one note sub. u can literally hear the sub only plays a single note...either the sub at fault or the enclosure. A very common syndrome but most are not aware of.
So if u find urself needing to cross the lp at 50hz, most probably ur in dat category. Juz to share.

Sorry bro. I'm at lost here. Care to explain further??

Bro MyWifeCar,
I think i can differentiate between sub sound and car metal vibating sound. Hehehe.. Just to add last week. Saw 1 myvi installing 15' lightning audio sub. Rear compartment full. Have to take out the rear dash also. But if course this sub also have the mmm sound. Thats the other story. The owner goes for spl, surely. Anyway, what amuse me is when he's going home, from far i can hear the rear wiper vibrating. Hahaha.... And its from 10-20 meters away....

Aahhh... So thats what its called. "precise tight bass that isnt muddied". Hehehe. Really made a fool out of myself with the mmmm sound eh? Thanks quazacolt...

the mmmm sound freq range are from mid bass / bass mid (80-200hz), not sub bass. sub bass are below 60hz....for malaysia style spl, they like to make ur 12" sub work like a 6" midbass so you get the "kick". and it is common used for car with improper install of midbass at front(so their 12" are used to compensate the mid bass)...then they got the mmmmmmm sound......

I see. Its just the setting la. Not the sub itself. Meaning all sub can be eliminate this sound, is it?

But seriously, got people like the mmmm sound meh?

SPL = sound pressure level

having the sub to play at higher frequencies does raise the SPL since its "constantly" working (where it shouldn't LOL!)

Hmm. True also... Have to agree on that. Lol. But is it allowable? I mean in competition.

Guys,

Just a general question. If we have a 500w rms sub. Should we get a 500w rms amp or more. What do you guys think.
