no review for alpha and panasonic but 1 of my 3unit joven cant even heat up the water temp and the tech stil cant rectify the prob

Panasonic is for sure the best quality but the design is not favoured by the users because not trendy enough.

"elephant bathing symbol"

However, Japanese company rather prefers number 1 in safety feature than design feature.

Sooner or later, panasonic will come out a lot of water heater media ads to expose in the market.

To note that, panasonic never made AC pump heater from the moment they started in producing the instant water heater 20 more years ago. Japanese know the consequences of the AC pump heater. So, they say no to problem and complaint.

It is not all just about that. It is about the OEM type vs the real manufacturing.

Panasonic have r&d, resource and manufacturing the heater. So they know from a to z about heater.

While others probably just OEM or buy the component and assembly themselves. Stick the brand and sell.

I feel like getting conned. My unit came with an unknown “Meru” storage water heater. I got it fixed in July by its distributor (I think) for RM400. Shortly after that it started to leak and my tenant only informed me in August. So the company sent technicians over twice. First time they said the valve wasn’t tightened or something. FOC and I tipped them. It still leaked. Today another team of technicians came and said the tank is spoilt and has to be replaced. I have to fork out RM120 as checking fees since it’s not due to changing the heating element back in July. The tank has to be replaced. I’ve paid RM520 so far and I’ll still need to replace the tank and redo the plaster. mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

Good news! The water heater exploded last night.

Is this a problem with the water heater itself or a repair job badly done by the technician? Where can I file a complaint if I want to?

Holy. Did anyone get injured? This is super scary.

Fortunately nope.

Moral of the story - if your storage water heater is suspected of leaking, turn off the valve and get it checked ASAP.

Should be WH leaked internally (most likely a crack or leak at the heating element) and caused a short.
Heating element was replaced in July. Technician denied the leak was at the heating element.

oh...so now need replace with new storage heater or instant heater or solar heater?

Preferred instant one which is installed on the wall but contractor said I must use back the storage type. I don't know why.

He said there's an instant tankless type which is installed in the ceiling. Has anyone come across this type?

Nice but a tad too late. I've already ordered a Joven 35L.
