My good old 20 years old National WH (Air Bubble Jet series with the elephant mascot) started to give problem. When I press the start/stop button to turn off the water, the water doesn't immediately stop, but will continue to flow for like 5-10s before it stop, quite annoying. Any idea what went wrong?

If need to replace, what is the recommended most reliable WH? Judging from my experience with National, I guess Pana? And which model (prefer with pump)? TBH I haven't used any other brands before like Joven, Alpha, Midea etc.

I think I have same model. National DH-311M? Used to be like that but these days, water doesn't even stop unless I cut off/turn off water supply laugh.gif

Apart from above, the ELCB light(green LED) doesn't even light up these days. But when I push the ELCB test button, that thing seems like it's working because water from warm/hot turns cold.

Please advise.

Mine is DH-360M. My ELCB light will still on. Only the start/stop button will delay off water. If water pressure too low will take longer time to off. It is as if when press button it rely on water pressure to push a rubber stopper and that thing moves slower now (I am guessing). Will try to open up to see what happen inside.

1. TNB is always AC. If you have a pump then DC pump slightly quieter that's all.

2. From the water hose if you can stop the water with your thumb easily that means low pressure. If you are already putting the heat max coz water too strong (i.e. cannot heat up in time) you should have good pressure already. If the min setting feels too hot then you should get a pump.

3. 4 unit Pana. But best to get older model DH3MS1. The newer model cut cost until Snoy's new unit also leak.

4. Normal usage 3.6kw model enough. There are 4.8kw models by Hitachi and Pana available if you are in cold places like Genting.

5. If buying online make sure the partner/online store is official dealer.
Should replace to be safe, it has been >20 years since its a National unit. Coz over time corrosion can eat into the heater element. Remember to use 10mA RCD as per ST guidelines.

For point 2, I am not sure if I should get w/pump version? My water pressure consider medium bah. WH is on 2nd floor, outside house got fit a generic filter, when someone open water downstair, water pressure upstair will drop significantly until no water will out depending downstair open how big, so if someone using shower upstair, downstair cannot open water. So it has been like this entire time, when cooking or washing cloth downstair then upstair cannot bath. Old house issue. Other than that shower still fine but not super satisfying like it can blast away dirt on the floor. Temp setting is at 50%. And then dunno why everytime midnight the water pressure will drop as if Air Selangor got set timer to reduce pressure auto every midnight. So if wanna bath must make sure to do it before 12am. Got salesman told me Pana use Jet pump which not powerful and doesn't help much. Is it true? Just wanna make educated decision and maybe safe money to get non pump version.

For point 5, is it easy to self install if buy online? I know online cheaper but prob is dunno how to install esp stuff like air con.
