QUOTE(jehutyz @ Feb 14 2012, 09:50 AM) Wow.... so good deal. Because I got mine at RM 2100. Buying from a trader here. But it's just the camera, nothing else. Add memory card (16GB Class 10) and postage still 2100 also. Hoping to get this week. After update didn't try it yet. But heard not really fix it. I read about the orb problem, pretty severe in some cases. I think it's a flaw in the EXR sensor design itself. But i have to say 99.99% of the non orb pics taken by X10 made me decided to buy it, and of course, the looks. |

Tried 40.5mm filters at the shops, won't fit and so hard to find 40mm filter & lens cap. Ended up ordering JJC hood to fit Hoya HD filter & lens cap. >_>
Also ordered Nikon Hot Shoe cover for RM9.50 and the only shutter release button on Shashinki lulz. The orb problem can be very severe at ISO 100 but above 1600 it's gone. Just hope Fuji will do something about this but i kinda doubt they will. Might as well improve the sensor and rename it X11. Other than that somewhat major problem, this thing takes freaking nice photos. My flickr if anyone interested. |

I call it THE LIGHTSABER OF DEATH.
I find the color to be a bit flat in Standard film mode so i put the Color to high. Velvia is a bit too contrasty for me. Also noticed that maybe it's a bit underexposed under bright sunlight so i might have to adjust a bit. Hm we'll see in my next lonely outing. |

Definitely not fixed. Just some other fixes and addition. Don't think it's fixable by firmware when the hardware is flawed.
Maybe use -1 or -2 EV will reduce it but i'm not sure. |

QUOTE(ahtiven @ Mar 1 2012, 12:19 AM) My result is similar to dpreview. 1600 above it's much softer.I think reducing the Highlight Tone setting will help reduce it a bit since i think the camera (at least my copy) tends to blow the highlight a lot especially contrasty indoor. |

If you look at flickr you can see tons of great pic taken with this cam. Also the orb problem vary a lot. You might get lucky if you get the latest copy. Mine seems to be the older copy (22/11/2011) so seems quite bad.
Was testing around at night on purpose. Orbs are mostly everywhere lol... funny thing when i zoom it seems to be reduced a bit. ![]() |

Not so noticeable since the orb in the middle is the same shape with the original lamp on the left. Other pics that i havent process seems quite worse. But i was doing this deliberately so...

QUOTE(enviro @ Mar 6 2012, 07:37 AM) Fuji just announced this. Maybe they will recall our x10 and replace the sensor. I wonder what it will be. Hoping for something good but then again don't want to hope so much lol...Wait for answer on 12/03/12 "Fujifilm has said it will provide a 'definitive solution' to the white orb blooming problem on its X10 enthusiast compact camera. No further details are available at this point but Fujifilm UK, speaking at the Focus 2012 show in Birmingham UK, said that it is aware of customer concerns and that there will be making a full statement on March 12th." |

Well i doubt it will have the same sensor blooming problem since it's a different sensor. The XS-1 is more likely to have it since it's the same sensor. But from what i read it's not as severe as X10.
QUOTE(enviro @ Mar 8 2012, 01:24 PM) The x10 is only 3 months old. Too early for them to give up and dump this camera. Well i sure hope so, them Japanese being Japanese. They so proudly say that it's Made in Japan so they should fix it the Japanese way. If fuji dont solve this problem their sales for the next 12 mth or so product life will be badly affected not to mention their reputation and other models and future models. somehow I feel they will not forget us the early buyers. If they do then they better commit harakiri QUOTE(enviro @ Mar 9 2012, 04:24 AM) I use the camera like you so I have not even upgraded the firmware. At a popular I upgraded to 1.03 straight away when i got the camera. Haha DPReview eh... maybe it's good that they are cursing Fuji a lot even though most of them don't even own the camera. Otherwise, Fuji probably won't take any action at all. Let them bash our camera and we just continue enjoying it as usual. US forum the problem is hotly debated with some cursing Fuji so if thy cannot solve the technical problem then they should follow apple iphone 4 experience and offer refund to those unhappy customers. |

I just emailed Fuji Malaysia. Hope they will reply soon.
Some people in Australia said they already called and Fuji will replace the sensor in May. Dunno if it will covered using the warranty or what. |
