I need your advice on a situation I face recently.
I am working for this XXX company for 8 months now and upon confirmation they have increased my salary to RM X amount and they put me in charge of the company online marketing presence. But after a few months our managing director decided postpone the online marketing project to next year. So my manager came to me saying that since now I am no longer in charge of the project they want to lower down my salary by three to four hundred. So the company plan to draft another letter for me to sign saying my salary has been reduced to RM Y amount. Which of course I have not sign. I told him I am not happy about this reduction so he give me a few options, either i resign or just take the amount.
I mean can they do such thing all of a sudden? Or is there some labor law protecting workers? Because its really not my fault that they didn't want to proceed with the project and Its really not fair to me.

Can provided they give sufficient notice period. It works just like a termination notice.

So let`s say I don't sign the the new offer letter with the revised salary. I am forced to resign or they have to fire me?
and may I know how long is the notification period? they informed me on end of last week and wants me to give a decision by this month.
