I've also been duped by these companies before (I applied for the job at JobStreet about five months ago). I was asked to go with my supervisor to these shopping malls and sell cookies and stuff. And they also keep yelling this "JUICE" bull crap. I left the company after only one day. About a week ago I went for an interview for Management Trainee. I saw the advertistment in The Star newspaper. The job description stated that the person will handle daily office operation and is responsible for various departments such as Admin and Operation. I noticed the advertistment has already been in The Star for at least six months but since I was desperate for a job I went and try it out anyway. It was located in Jalan Ipoh which is quite far away from where I'm staying in Bandar Sunway. Anyway, once I reached there I noticed the office was pretty neat and comfortable. Looked like a great place to work. I was surprised that I was the only one there. Usually walk-in interviews has many other people queuing up to be interviewed. Maybe because the place isn't very easy to reach/find. So after I filled in the form I was called by the boss (or the person in charge) for the interview. In the beginning he ask the usual questions..."Tell me about yourself" blah blah blah. Then he asked if I'm interested in doing some outdoor sales. And I was like "WTF I don't remember the job description stating that I should do sales.". At this point I knew that it was yet another one of those companies trying to fool people to sell their stuffs. Then he mentioned other craps like I have to have good communication, team, and leadership skills if I go out to organize events. I thought this is suppose to be some indoor job and not going out to do events. When I asked if the job involves a lot of sales, he just replied..."A lot of people say that we cant make much profit doing sales. But thats not true!", and smiled. I smiled back and nod and act as if I'm interested. At the end he said that he'll call me if I'm short-listed. After four hours his secretary called me and said that I was short-listed. And I was like "Whoa..that was quick.". She told me to come the next day at 8a.m until 5p.m and to bring along a bag and a note pad. That was exactly what I was told by the first company I got duped. Its a good thing I checked this thread out because I later found out that its almost the same company you guys were mentioning.
Based on my experience I'd say don't apply for those jobs that has been advertised non-stop. That goes the same for advertistments that does not state the company's name.

The Star has loads of these advertistments by these companiese. The most obvious ones are the ones that advertises a few jobs in one advertistment such as Management Trainee, IT Trainee, Marketing Executive, etc, without a company name and full address and asking you to go for a walk in interview.

Ignore the email from cobra. I've seen the advertistment and I'm damn sure its them trying to con more people. The company has been around for some time. So far no one has done anything about it. Or can't do anything about it. You can read more about Cobra and our member's complaints here.

Sometimes its easy to tell by just looking at the way they advertise. I've been looking through advertistments for the past two years and been to the interviews so most of the time I can pick out the scams. Even if you do go for interview you won't know its a scam unitl you join them.

QUOTE(mumeichan @ Jan 9 2007, 05:46 PM) Anyone know anything about Ideal Approach? I've been there for an interview about two years ago. Around Subang area. Don't know much about them. I applied for some admin job and they wanted me to do sales. I got a feeling it would be something like a door to door salesman. When they told me I got the job, they asked me to wear formal the next day and bring a note pad with me. Thats exactly the same thing those con companies which I used to work for told me when I got the job. So yeah...beware. QUOTE Hi everyone...i am juz graduated with a IS diploma. Juz wan to tell all something i feel important. I join the company called Cosmopoint in KL. Maybe u know it coz it is a college. I join as the server admin job. I wan tell everyone that Cosmopoint company is a bad company. It is cheating their own employees!! Pls if u wan to join, dont join dis u will regret very much!! Really? I almost wanted to join them. They always have this advertisment saying they're looking for IT graduates and will be paying rm1800 a month. I applied a lot of times but they never called me. Guess I was lucky then.
