you know la , we got nothing to lose , why not ? but , my mum said are you people genuine citibank peoples ??? LOL , they both turned around and pointed to the back of their shirt which stated CITIBANK .
then my mum blindly wrote everything liao , all agree agree , then only the guy said , miss , you need to wait 6 WEEKS for the gift and 2 weeks for the card to arrive your doorstep .. i was like WTF? why dint u say earlier ??
he then said , dont worry , heres my namecard , you can call me to check out the process , then my mum is like , haiz ... sure anyway ..
3 WEEKS LATER :
first card arrived , the airasia one ... hmm , i think they're pretty genuine ,
3 MONTHS LATER :
my mum even bought a new SIM card for her new phone , she got very pissed and called the guy , guess what the guy said to my mum thru the phone :
erm , aunty , im not working in citibank anymore ..

miss , we are sorry to say , the nokia phone is out of stock , we can only give the free luggage bag in next 2 months , my mum just said , aiya forget it la , stupid baskets ... lol ....
well , i wouldnt say this is a con/scam story but i think its pretty worth to share out my experince with you people ..ciaoz.
I think this quite standard SOP (Scam Operating Procedure!!). Especially for credit card salesmen, they'll try to entice you with freebies...but usually cheap ones, especially toys to attract parents with kids (if kid stuck there, sure got chance to kacau the parents!). Basically, all these freebies are actually coming out of their own pocket. There's no such thing given by the banks. My wife last time kena one time, i think citibank also, supposely to get a free thumbdrive. But no news for a long time, so she called up the fella (which luckily still working in Citibank), after a few times, it was finally sent to her i think (if i remember correctly...). Although the gifts are been 'offered' by the salesmen personally, i believe the banks are well aware of these. They just close both eyes...as long as they can get people to sign up and they can deny everything should the customer complain officially and blame on the sales person.
