Lol, my course has no way related to forensic. Just merely a module that i have to take.

But yeah, to conduct an autopsy u must be a qualified pathologist first (mbbs or doctor). I was just lucky to have that chance, thanks to the guest lecturer.

Most probably forensic science course offered in most unis touch on the forensic chemist aspect, like analysing content of substance, analysing the evidence threads, fibres etc. But then again, i think if u take chemistry instead of forensic science it would be a better choice as i think the only place to work as a forensic chemist is the jabatan kimia malaysia linked directly to the police.

Biology courses may give you a chance to see autopsy.....but you will get bored looking for them after years.......You should be interested in pathology or related field rather than see real life autopsy........

Jabatan Kimia Yes, you can work under them but dont know how they look at forensic degree in Malaysia....

What he said.

I'm from USM Health Campus, here we got Forensic Science course. I must tell you, the course is indeed very interesting. However, most of my Forensic friends were disappointed when they found out they do not deal with corpses and autopsy, more lab works. (these friends of mine thought they are going to cut and cut mayat). They did have to go to see crime scenes if there were any accidents, murders happened. But if you want to be a court doctor, a coroner, doing autopsy you need first to take Medicine, get a MD or MBBS then pursue your MSc in forensics pathology or related. You cant deal with autopsy if you start with Forensic Science degree..

Oh I'm not Forensics student btw.

the job prospect for forensic isn't that great overseas as well to be honest. I've friends in the course and they are sweating over their future careers. For Criminology, it is a rather wide area. You can pursue it in psychology or even in law. Depending on what you want to do. For autopsy, you'll need to be a pathologist ie after your MBBS/MD degree.

Local unis do accept A levels but they prioritize matrik/form 6 students if i'm not mistaken. and doesnt necessarily mean you can get the course you want. =) all the best.

In Malaysia, take chemistry degree or biology, then join PDRM to get a job in forensic or you can apply for Jabatan Kimia....It is better to look for someone who works in the forensic department or chemistry department to get your answer......

Overseas I have no idea.......
