Hey guys, I recently bought my Proton Persona. Everything seems to be going well and I'm quite satisfied with my car overall except the door handle that's not properly fixed and this issue. Every time, when I switch on the aircond, there will be this 'shrill' sound and it will be heard like every 6 seconds. It's kinda annoying when I'm waiting at the traffic light and the noise keeps coming up. Do any of you experience this problem too?

Or please don't tell me its normal for this car.

Its normal for this car. Thats shrill sound is the sound of the aircon gas being pumped in.

Really? Well, is there any way to reduce the noise? How did you even get used to this sound?

it is easy , just adjust the temperature to lower then you will not heard the sound on and off too frequen. It is because when the temperature lower the compresor no need to keep pumping too long to reach the setting temperature so it will be on and off, if we set to lower temperature the compressor nee long time running to achieve the setting temperature so the on and off compressore sound reduced.

I was very irritated with it also.. But then there is nothing that can be done. Its not like u can change absorber to improve ride and handling or do insulation to reduce outside noise..
