Hi.... just book a PE last Thursday... awaiting loan and car....2weeks i think. FULL INTRO BELOW.... skip to the end for some important Qs for LYN PPC.

Myself - Jacky, 32 (old ady), Male, OUG - Night Shifter (wont be available Sat - Tue) But 24hrs free on Wed - Fri......
I am a newbie in cars product/Tech stuff... please dun bully.

Old Car - S.Neo - Mline - Stock - Manual

New car - PE - Silver - Hi Line - Auto. No Intention of modding except for DIY that do not cost much.. Wont be able to poison me (of course - stock tint will remove and put others  tongue.gif )

Been reading LYNNPPC thread since V23....that is how long I have been surveying for a new car... 2months back.  cool2.gif Wanna buy new car cause me like the new 1.5 Myvi.... but for the pricing of 56K, it is just for the looks, and near to nothing feature, except turtling, + my GF no like Myvi... saying it is a girl car icon_question.gif forget it - i went and surveyed other car model

I have Surveyed in order:-

Peugeot 207 SV - Tempted to buy due to the 5yrs free service & warranty + 5k discount somemore. But the interior feel too cheap to my liking. Door like toy car closing....no oopmh....doesnt feel right when cornering. Could be the balancing still for 206hatchback. If 308, at the same price, I WILL BUY IT....  laugh.gif

Swift - too small

FLX - GF + Family no like. They said it looks like old man car from the back.......somemore only in solid white which is hard to maintain.... (shhh... i like this car)

PE - already book. THATS WHY I AM HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!  rclxm9.gif

Forte and Mazda - low in $$$$ no intention of buying as I wan full specs, but both car is good.

LASTLY - Persona R - was thinking of the Pro and cons.... should I wait? or should I not....the design looks ok, but I am expecting the price range to be from 55k-70k from Standard to Exec model which is bit wee off from my budget. Chances of it coming out in Feb & March is high but it could take longer and mebe need to wait until mid yr + 1st batch of cars from Proton usually gave numerous trouble - so might only buy it if possible end of 2012 (which the work already end) shocking.gif . Since I know Neo will production will be cut next yr, except for CPS line, my Neo resell value will drop... sweat.gif -

SO - PE is the way to go. In my Budget + Full Spec + Family Car

SO, read and read and read and read multiple forums, with lotsa info learned, especially here in LYN PPC... very informal but fun... the way I likes it.  thumbup.gif
QUESTIONS for you (LYN PPC)
1) I am a manual driver - changing to Auto - How is it going up Genting? I knew that some of you here is able to go up without any problem, and some make it there but hard. Is it that those that make it up use L/2/3 gear (which I intend to use) and not D?

2) I like DIY... Does any of you have personal DIY or links for Persona? For example, I like the site below for PE DIY mods...  thumbup.gif
http://faieelegance.blogspot.com/search/label/DIY

3) Any of you got a good link to crack Lokatoo to papago x8.5?

4) My FC for my NEO previously was 9-10L/100KM - then got light footed driving like an uncle at 90-120kmh only... what do you think my FC for PE Auto will be like?

5) Any gals member here?? I see only guys nick and hamsap posts alot  shakehead.gif .....
Please pray I have no problem with this new PE.... I have drove Aeroback and Neo (touchwood) - no issues. Hopefully, Proton god will treat me well again.

Just go play with few that you like, then compare the UI and functionality. Since you use USB mode most of the time, diff HU has diff way of searching for songs. Do consider this factor as well.

Hahaha... Any where out of island is far for penangites.. Lol

hehe.. Good choice to buy a PE.. Btw im staying bukit jalil only and we do have mini TT in sri petaling quite frequently.
1) Im a manual driver all this while b4 my PE too.. If u want to go up genting with ease ur standard PE will do fine.. Only if u are racing up to genting u will feel that ur car is a bit inadequate. U can just shift to 3 when going up genting to maintain speed and power all the time..
2) The best DIY we have is the link that u gave above .. Faieelegance.. So far he provide a lot of good DIY tutorial.
3) So far as i know the best crack is to Lokatoo X5..
4) IF u go light footed with ur PE, u can achieve 7.5L/100km at best.. Normally u will average around 8-8.7L/100km.
5) hmmm nope. all sausage fest over here.. hahahaha.. If there are any probs, feel free to post it here, we will help help u diagnose as best as possible.

Since 15K is not in the Service Book, can we.... brows.gif service outside? Anyone did so? Then 20k only back, will they know?

During 15k Service, do they make any record on the booklet?

Added on November 12, 2011, 12:29 pmDear Sifu,

For those who add tweeter in PE, how they install? Need to dismantle the dashboard? Or can be like Wira last time, just pull the cable from below, then put the tweeter up? I worry after install make the dashboard more noise. sweat.gif

How about the rear speaker? I did talk to SC people about the rear dashboard wood noise, they said not easy to open the rear dashboard, need to open the side pillar as well, else will make the pillar scratch. rclxub.gif Really so?

I just think of migrate my Wira Tweeter and 6’ X 9’ 3 way rear speaker to my PE. Will it improve the SQ?

Thx notworthy.gif

hmm that im not too sure.. There are 2 ways, u can either dismantle the dash to pull the wire through the interior of the dash and come out at the side, so there wont be any exposed wires, or u can run the wires along the bottom part of the dashboard from ur HU, then run it up along the sides.. But u will see exposed wires there.. Normally u can go to some good shops to dismantle the dashboard for u and they do a good job fixing it back.. for example EA Autoworks. Cost of wiring might be a bit more expensive by RM20-50 compared to other shops but at least its a job well done.
*
For PE no need , they just pull out the side pillar thingy and pull from there.

No need remove dashboard.

Added on November 12, 2011, 2:31 pmvccy , the HU you want right? Where u live? Maybe can make small TT find u makan then pass u the HU. But make sure u there ada nice food makan o

To answer your question;
1) Climb can climb, not neccessary to use L/2/3 gear since in D if there's not enough power, it'll auto downshift the gear to give the power. Sometimes it better to use lower gear at some spot to use your engine braking, slowing down the car rather than wearing the brake pads by pressing the brake the whole way.
2) If you want you can join the ppoec club which got quite few DIY stuff and tutorial.
3) Someone else here might able to answer you since I never use papago before sweat.gif
4) Most likely will be the same or higher a bit. Mostly depends on how many times you accelerate from stop and how aggressive.
5) Last time got but MIA already laugh.gif
