The major differences is just the bigger display at 5.3 inch and the S-Pen ( useful if you do take notes a lot plus other cool features of the Spen software)
*
Also remember the battery capacity increase, waveweaver posted a screenshot showing about 6hours on screen time till the note battery less than 5%,which is AWESOME!

owh i9100 not i9000 ? haha sorry
ive read g is better in terms of battery life n working temp
means g is the upgraded version
*
G version isnt an upgrade, samsung couldnt produce enough exynos processors to meet demand so they had to buy other brands of processors from another company, which happened to be ti omap. ti omap's dual core 1.2ghz cpu. Its slightly less powerful than the exynos processor, and thus less heat is produced. G version processor seems to be capped at 1008mhz,which would also explain why battery life is better and less heat produced. Battery life is better partly due to better software optimizations

Battery capacity is larger due to larger screen and higher processor that requires more juices. So I guess it all goes down to individual operation, not necessarily means will be longer
*
One more thing, that user put his note at MAXIMUM BRIGHTNESS,i call that epic battery life. probrably last longer if put half brightness, should mayb last 8hrs. wait till waveweaver or benny get their note then see how long can it last

i put my s2 brightness to the lowest  biggrin.gif

Wow, for home use lowest is fine, but what abt when u go out? I need at least half brightness for outside usage and full brightness if super sunny day. i just use auto brightness, which can be funky sometimes, but gets the job done

Aiyoh how fast you wanna go. Even our dual core 1.2ghz is greatly underused. No point in 1.4 or OC to 1.6. So the selling point for Note is not the processor. For me its the large screen, better resolution and better batt life.
*
Agree,a 0.2ghz difference isnt gonna make a difference. Not really a fan of the big size of the note,i already have a difficult time putting and taking my phone out of my pocket, i dont think note can even fit in my pocket

anyone care to share their set cpu profiles?? what is ur main profile scaling and ur voltage for each frequencies?
*
My cpu profiles are:
1200-200 ondemand governor
No uv

pretty simple stuff smile.gif do note that all of our devices react differently to the same uv settings, some maybe able to uv like hell and no issues, while some may uv slightly then random reboots(me). so try every uv settings to see which suits ur device best smile.gif

Why install app on sd card when there is ample of memory on phone. S2 no problem with internal space memory
*
Even though it is indeed big,but a few gameloft games would chew it up till almost no space left, then no choice but to move apps to external sd card

You can just download stock firmware from xda and flash it to your phone via Odin

So proud of soyacincau and malaysia, their video got 60,000 views and was features on many prominent tech websites like gizmodo and phandroid rclxm9.gif i trust that they programmed the galaxy nexus with their face and unlocked it with their note, as im regular reader of that website

Does anyone know why sometimes my phone shuts off and gets very very hot? When I restart it I have lost 60% of my battery. Could this be caused by UVing and setting the min CPU speed at 100MHz?
*
Im thinking you UVed to much, put back stock voltage and monitor for a few days. My screen off profile min cpu speed is 100mhz, and no random shutdowns, so i'm thinking it could be caused by excessive UV

When official ROM will get an update. Stuck at 2.3.3 (Non G version) sad.gif

Added on November 14, 2011, 4:04 amComing from a stock ROM.

Is this the correct and best checkROM for me ?

New_XXKI4_CheckROM_RevolutionHD_V2.0.0.zip

Gadgetcheck already release checkrom v3, but i heard from here there are a few bugs, so i have yet to upgrade to v3. So far v2 for me has no major issues, everything runs smoothly, so flash v2 in my opinion smile.gif

Always thought i was the only one very concerned and bothered with the lens cover. We rock in the same boat. Lets see how we can protect the camera cover. Input please from fellow forumers
*
I feel the same too, i dont get why android devices MUST have a protruding camera, what were the manufacturers thinking? I wish the design team for phone manufacturers could pay more attention to the little details of the phone like the protruding camera issue in most android phones.

Also, oddly enough i couldnt replicate the issue anymore, one thing that i noticed when it was happening was that auto brightness was really funky, it kept switching brightness levels. Oh well, i guess it was just a one time incident

The graphic looks really dated.
However did you tried playing it on your phone yet? Because sometimes the screenshot posted in the market is of low quality due to downsizing of picture.

Chainfire 3D basically solves all game compatibility problem in our phone, try that.

My opinion (no offense intended)
To be honest, gaming on mobile phone sucks, if you are a gamer you should buy a good PC/Xbox360/PS3 instead and enjoy the brilliant graphic on a big screen.
It's all about the control, touch screen control sucks for these types of games, especially FPS.
For mobile game/touch screen game like Cut the Rope is enough, for me at least, and it works well.

I'm telling from personal experience. GS2 is not so good for gaming as it gets hot quick fast, the screen become barely touchable after a while (depending on games).
I played Nova, Asphalt, Shadowgun, Spiderman, Samurai Vengeance and so on, all heat up.

Sorry for the long post, for those who want to use controller for your phone, download sixaxis controller from the market.  smile.gif
*
100% agree with you, i think gaming should be left to PCs and consoles, not portable devices. For me i absolutely hate the controls on consoles, i still prefer gaming on PCs
