UK Release of New Linkin Park Album Reportedly Due in April

While no official confirmation has been released as of yet by the band, several internet websites are now reporting an April 30th UK release of Linkin Park's yet to be titled new album with a US release shortly thereafter.

Fans should note that while this rumor has yet to receive any official confirmation by the band, 'Somewhere I Belong' was released only a month before Meteora, which in an indirect way, adds some form of credibility to the news post now circulating around the internet.

It has now been confirmed that Young Buck will be collaborating with Chester for his upcoming new album "Buck The World" which will be released on March 20th. This goes against previous speculation as to Mike being the LP member to collaborate with Young Buck as he had this to say...

"I think I created a masterpiece here. You know you have to reinvent yourself every time you come out. I put my heart in it and I think my fans are gonna love it. I even did a song with Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. I'm telling you this album is crazy,"

According to various reports from the official LinkinPark.com and LPUnderground.com message boards, Mike posted a blog entry on both the Linkin Park and Fort Minor MySpace pages revealing the title and release date of Linkin Park's upcoming CD.

However, as quickly as the entry was posted, it was deleted. What does this mean? We're unsure as of this moment.

It appears the new album will be called Minutes To Midnight and will be released May 15th.

An article/interview with the band was just released by Billboard, with Brad Delson providing even more juicy details from Minutes to Midnight. Below is a particularly significant excerpt:

"This was a year-and-a-half long process of really hard work and experimentation in the studio that yielded about 150 rough songs," guitarist Brad Delson tells Billboard.com. The band recorded 17 tracks and is now whittling down which ones will make the final cut. "Not only is this album incredibly diverse, but the depth of the material is really strong," Delson says.

Delson is particularly high on "The Little Things Give You Away," which he says is "the song of which I'm probably most proud that we've ever done." Another cut, "Bleed It Out," sports "Motown drums, almost '80s rock guitar, rapping and an early hip-hop influence in terms of how it was recorded. I think it will be really fun to play live," he says.

"Minutes to Midnight" will also include a track with two current working titles ("When My Time Comes" or "Leave Out All the Rest") that Delson describes as "a really moody, almost electronic-based song. Lyrically, I can definitively say this is our strongest record, and in particular, this song I really connect to personally. I think it's a really touching song."

The Linkin Park Underground has confirmed that Linkin Park's long awaited third release, entitled Minutes to Midnight, will be released Tuesday, May 15th in the United States, and Monday, May 14th in all other countries.

The first single is to be released April 2nd, and is titled 'What I've Done.'

"We have put more into the new album than anything we have ever done before," says bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell. The band spent over 14 months in the studio and wrote more than 100 song demos in the making of Minutes to Midnight, an album which vocalist Mike Shinoda sees as, "a breakthrough in the development of the band's sound."
