its not heavy la the maverick... around 1kg-1.5kg only....
i did forgot to bring the adaptor last time but this time im ready.... now if someone have spdif cable and also a lappy that can use spdif and got 24 bits per sample audio files....
I found out between 16bit and 24 bit.. 16 bit will loose some strength in high freq.
i guess 16bits cut off more of the high freq and ultra low freqs to compensate for the loss of bit wave, so basically unnoticable in general ears, but not ours, muahaha

I think there's a little misconception you guys have there, audio bit depth is just a digital representation of how much information to keep from an analog recording, more or less the same like a picture resolution, whether or not 16bit or 24bit matters it depends on the content of the recording itself, imagine this scenario:
Do you think it matters whether you use 18MP or 12MP resolution from the same DSLR to shoot a plain white wall?

Yes, 18MP or 12MP will take same picture for white wall but if you save in 8bit, 24bit or 32bit, it will be using different color shade.
Try to change your monitor color quality to 8bit (if still have), 16 bit or 32bit. If your monitor use all white wallpaper, all look same. Try with a colorful wallpaper.
Apply that to music... do you think which one is better between 8 bit, 16bit and 24bit?

true. as always people would opt for a higher quality. irregardless of nature

Well I don't mean to turn this into an argument coz its kinda OT, but just to make it clear I don't disagree with you, obviously for displaying complex color higher bit will have its benefit, but for audio as I said it depends on recording, for eg. Diana Krall Live in Paris album will shine with 24bit but I definitely can't say the same for Boyce Avenue songs... just my 2 cent.
Laptop (24bits) (which got spdif output or can use turtle beach USB to spdif output ) --> USB to Fiio E10 toslink/spdif cable Coax to Maverick D1 DAC --> using RCA connector to 3.5mm output from preamp tube D1 have---> SS amp (most likely my stepdance or others if u guys want to try ---> headphone
Need to get the COAX. I don't have it now.
I have 24 bits song.

12MP! just so i get to process RAWs much faster/easier
on a serious note, i may come to this gath if my amp can be repaired by jaben in time ^^;
