Hi Johnson,

MikroTik RB751G-2HnD has been discontinued and being replaced by RB951G-2HnD.

The maximum number of concurrent connection is determined by the amount of RAM and both RB951G-2HnD and 3 Asus RT series you mentioned have the same amount of RAM size. biggrin.gif

The biggest advantage of MikroTik is the RouterOS, Asus cannot even come close to it, RouterOS has so so much much more features but the interface not user friendly like Asus.

Thanks for the reply. I am sure that RouterOS is more "full featured" than AsusWRT. Actually RouterOS may overwhelm me as I have not read-up or tinkered with one yet.

However, I was refering to performance, throughput, etc. Will the Mikrotik RB951G-2HnD "run rings around" the Asus? Both are almost similarly priced but the RT-N53 & RT-N56 are more expensive...

thanks.
BTW, what is a good Hotspot management system with prepaid & postpaid features?

Hi Johnson,

Your question is too broad, what area of performance do you mean? If you are looking for throughput test, you can have a look at the bottom of this page, http://routerboard.com/RB951G-2HnD.

I can't really understand your question about hotspot, I think there is no good system for anyone but the one that suits you, MikroTik hotspot can be installed with User Manager provided for free on its website to have the voucher prepaid system and the normal postpaid billing.

Hi Cloud Computer, may I ask how is the RB951G-2HnD wireless signal range fare against ASUS RT-AC66U?

Hi flying spaghetti monster,

We have no experience on RT-AC66U, however in term of wireless performance, I think RT-AC66U should be better.

You should consider RB2011UAS-2HnD if you need better wireless. smile.gif

What's the dBi of the antenna kit that you sell with RB951G-2HnD? The RB951G-2HnD stock antenna gain is 2.5dBi, after upgrade will it outperform RT-AC66U in terms of wireless signal range?

Is RB2011UAS-2HnD using the same antenna kit as RB951G-2HnD?

Thanks for your info bro.

Hi Sir,

RB951G-2HnD does not allow external antenna and the antennas on RB2011UAS-2HnD are not detachable. smile.gif

So the antenna kit that you offer is for which model? I thought it's for RB951G-2HnD. What's the dBi of the antenna kit?

If you mean the antenna kit mentioned in the earlier replies in this post, it is for RB751 series, the provided antenna in the package is 6 dBi.

1. So do you still sell RB751G-2HnD?

2. If no more, is RB951G-2HnD able to upgrade antenna?

3. Got more than 14 dBi antenna?

1. Yes we are selling now.
2. No, RB951G-2HnD does not allow external antenna.
3. Yes but they are not for home use and the prices are much much higher, you should use 10 dBi or less in home.

Sorry I mean the RB751G-2HnD with Gigabit. After I checked the details at routerboard.com, I notice in the description it stated 30 dBi. 30 dBi is like very powerful already. Is it true? Please advice.

Got this router few weeks back. Improved WiFi signal and stability ,mamma mia.

user posted image

Both the router and wireless range extender is up for 6 days, this is awesome.

Using my stock dlink wireless router as modem,it was just plug and play.haha

Good product by ts.however comparing to previous MikroTik router (the one with antenna extension ) I find this signal range is much much weaker.

Hi Sir,

Once again, please be informed that RB751G-2HnD is not available anymore and it has been replaced by RB951G-2HnD, it also comes with 1000mW or 30 dBm, yes this is very high comparing to other consumer grade AP.

I like RouterOS, it's very stable and so many features compared to other stock firmwares and custom firmwares. Hope Mikrotik will produce high end AP or AP with PoE products.

Yes, you are right. biggrin.gif

MikroTik does has some high end AP like Groove and SXT series, but they are designed for long range and outdoor usage. The best integrated model for indoor use is RB2011UAS-2HnD currently. smile.gif
