The latest major version of RouterOS, RouterOS 6.0 is out of beta and officially released now!
QUOTE MikroTik RouterOS Version 6 Changes Here is a list of some changes and improvements for RouterOS v6 • A new linux kernel is used (version 3.3.5) which enables us to use the latest drivers and support most of the latest hardware • Simple queue mechanism is improved to greatly benefit setups with hundreds or thousands of Simple queue rules • Simple queue performance on multicore systems is improved significantly • Latest v6rc3 adds more Simple queue optimizations, Packet flow is slightly changed as you can see in the diagram below • v6 also features fastpath feature - a mechanism of packet flow shortcuts to massively improve data throughput, currently this feature is added to simple setups, like routing, bridging and mpls, but in future we plan to enable fast path for more complex features, such as Firewall • Fastpath is also supported for MPLS traffic since RouterOS v6rc3 • RouterOS is now made 64bit for TILE architecture, that is used on our new Cloud Core Router devices (see article on page 1), giving ability to use 16GB of RAM or more Hidden Feature - Cable Diagnostics The ability to detect cable problems has now been added in RouterOS v6rc3 and newer releases. RouterOS will tell you: • Which cable pair is broken • At what length the cable is broken • How the cable is broken - torn or shorted This works on SXT-G, RB711G, RB2011, RB750 series and other devices with the same switch chips, and also the new Cloud Core series devices. QUOTE(walaoyeh @ May 29 2013, 11:21 PM) i notice that i having some difficulty to browse the certain website like www.weiphone.com , i can't even load the content from the browser, then i try to off the wifi and use 3g, is work. is there anything related on the router config? We found UniFi has trouble accessing China websites recently, I think you have the same problem to most China websites if you are using UniFi, you can try to verify it with your friends with UniFi. |

QUOTE(johnson.lukose @ Jun 17 2013, 12:08 AM) Dear Sir, please advise; Hi Johnson,Asus RT-N16 300,000 Sessions Stable Download Asus RT-N53 300,000 Sessions Stable Download Asus RT-N56U 300,000 Sessions Stable Download Microtik RB751G-2HnD 91624 Concurrent Connections What are differences of the parameters here? Can you point to a better comparison of the Asus and Microtik modem / routers? thanks. MikroTik RB751G-2HnD has been discontinued and being replaced by RB951G-2HnD. The maximum number of concurrent connection is determined by the amount of RAM and both RB951G-2HnD and 3 Asus RT series you mentioned have the same amount of RAM size. The biggest advantage of MikroTik is the RouterOS, Asus cannot even come close to it, RouterOS has so so much much more features but the interface not user friendly like Asus. Cloud Computer |

QUOTE(johnson.lukose @ Jun 17 2013, 10:20 PM) Thanks for the reply. I am sure that RouterOS is more "full featured" than AsusWRT. Actually RouterOS may overwhelm me as I have not read-up or tinkered with one yet. Hi Johnson,However, I was refering to performance, throughput, etc. Will the Mikrotik RB951G-2HnD "run rings around" the Asus? Both are almost similarly priced but the RT-N53 & RT-N56 are more expensive... thanks. BTW, what is a good Hotspot management system with prepaid & postpaid features? Your question is too broad, what area of performance do you mean? If you are looking for throughput test, you can have a look at the bottom of this page, http://routerboard.com/RB951G-2HnD. I can't really understand your question about hotspot, I think there is no good system for anyone but the one that suits you, MikroTik hotspot can be installed with User Manager provided for free on its website to have the voucher prepaid system and the normal postpaid billing. QUOTE(flying spaghetti monster @ Jun 19 2013, 10:49 PM) Hi Cloud Computer, may I ask how is the RB951G-2HnD wireless signal range fare against ASUS RT-AC66U? Hi flying spaghetti monster,We have no experience on RT-AC66U, however in term of wireless performance, I think RT-AC66U should be better. You should consider RB2011UAS-2HnD if you need better wireless. Cloud Computer This post has been edited by CloudComputer: Jun 20 2013, 05:35 PM |

QUOTE(flying spaghetti monster @ Jun 20 2013, 01:50 PM) What's the dBi of the antenna kit that you sell with RB951G-2HnD? The RB951G-2HnD stock antenna gain is 2.5dBi, after upgrade will it outperform RT-AC66U in terms of wireless signal range? Hi Sir,Is RB2011UAS-2HnD using the same antenna kit as RB951G-2HnD? Thanks for your info bro. RB951G-2HnD does not allow external antenna and the antennas on RB2011UAS-2HnD are not detachable. Cloud Computer |
