Hello guys, a new user for GNote here. Got it this morning around noon time.

Some review/user experience on this phone after my 3 years Samsung Omnia HD phone (Symbian) model.

1) Performance wise it's superb and is very smooth. (I guess Uncle benny is right, if you compare with S2, you'll see the difference, since i never seen S2 and GNote side by side)

2) Coverage wise, for wireless it's very strong, running on TM Unifi default Wifi router. Download is very fast too.

3) Battery wise... I got the unit back home around 1.30PM and let it charge immediately without touching it.. When the phone is fully charged, it's around 3PM. I fully test and use the phone with all the downloads, playing downloaded games from market, samsung apps, try the speaker with some built-in music, try the handsfree with radio, transfer contact from that old phones to new phones (manually, copy from sim and copy back into phone, doing that action 2 times cos the contact list can't fully fit into one sim card. for this does anyone has any idea how to make it work more flawlessly?), browsing and sms, made 1 and received 1 calls, few sms, took 2 photos with flash, test the flash with some software to use as a torch light and try some youtube movie clips. However, the battery only last me until around 11.30PM then the phone starts to warn me it's getting very low, that i need to charge it. So all in all, with wifi, GPS and auto rotation on, it only last me about 6.5 hours.

Now the next question is, you guys mention the charging time is about 2 hours, I started charging mine at around 11.30PM and now it's not fully charged yet (96%)... did i make anything wrong here? Sorry for such a noob questions cos i'm an andriod first time user...

However, all in all, i'm very satisfied with the performance and the design of the phone! Thumbs up for Samsung for such wonderful phone.

Morning all Noters! Lol... OK, after fully charged yesterday night and i try out one apps name "Sleep as Android" and let it run with the alarm.

Surprising this morning when i wake up, the battery icon on top already drop half! Then i go and check the battery status, it only left 36%.

2.45-11.25 it's about 8.5 hours and the batter drop around 64%, without touching it? Can any sifus here help to clarify? Or is my battery is defact? If so, how can i proof that the battery is defact and how to claim for warranty?

Really need some advise here on this new phone but now the battery seems like... acting weird.

Is it? Oh... then I should try again to watch the battery another day... but now the "purple line" thingy i see when doing th screen test scares me.. with that, will it affect the screen in long run or will it cause any problem? should i claim warranty for that?

It's no that clear in the photo but there are obvious on the phone... top right... cry.gif

Hi Waveweaver, thanks for the reply. That battery stuff doesn't really my main concern now. my main concern is the purple line on the top left corner (see few post earlier with attachment). what's your suggestion/solution to this? Any recommendation is much appreciated.

2% drop after the whole night is normal but you can download BetterBatteryStats to check for any wakelocks
If more then 7 dead pixel then you can claim warranty under screen defect. Or try bring the phone back and show the defect to your seller
~~good luck~~
*
So how to find out how many dead pixel? it's a line... does that count as multiple dead pixel? Guess i need to go back to pavilion again...

Before i turn that back to samsung, how about all my contact details and my data? How to back up so if i get the new phone i'm able to back up the info back to the new phone? Please kindly advise... really appreciate. notworthy.gif

My eyes must be ageing already - cannot see anything. If you have to look for it, than is not an issue at all

As I said, it's not that clear on the photo but it's obvious on the screen. I also just came back from Pavilion and the Celcom guy says, oh sorry we can't swap for you, we only sell lines, phone please talk to samsung. Fair enough. He manage to help me find the in charge person and i showed him the line he said ya, luckily i test it. Then he made a few calls mentioning there's no new spare parts yet, so need to wait till next week. He gave me the service centre contact person in Plaza Berjaya there.

Called up that guy and he suspect is the screen. so he said will help me order a new screen and change that screen for me. Sigh... need to wait again. but luckily no need to do so much of hassle to back up all the things (still finding ways to back up those data).

Anyway, seriously, if don't pay attention, you wont see until the screen colour is bright, not combination colour of red and blue. Other colours you'll see that.

While waiting for the samsung guy to get me the contact number, i checked with him how's their sales today, he said is worse then yesterday. The crowd not that much and the outcome also not as good as S2 last time... Guess samsung needs to find a better telco partner for their new lauching of items next time. More attractive packages!

Doesn't matter. It's unclear on the photo. Don't know how to make it looks clearer since the photo taken out also "blur blur" like that... I dont' have a dslr so can't do much on the photo. lol.. Anyway, as i said, will call up the service team and get them prepare the screen for me to change next week.
