Add me up on the family list!

Asus N55 i5 (Black)

Having hard time getting used to the keyboard layout lol.

Anyway, I just tried my very 1st game on this N55, Heroes Of Newerth(HON) finally, all at MAX settings, for the freaking first time I saw HON is actually a beautiful game hahaha....

1 thing though, my lappy is sooooo HOT! playing the game, hot till palm area, is this normal =.=...means I really need a laptop cooler lor like this...hot till feel a lil uncomfy.

Added on December 4, 2011, 11:18 pm103 processes, siao man Asus default!

But I don't dare to simply disable things off coz unsure of what they actually do sad.gif

note. most users here suffered from driver missing after uninstalling some games & programmes. usually is the Fn button, volume controls on the left side or the trackpad zoom, scroll & rotate not functioning. reinstalling the driver using the DVD provided will help. u can check for the list of useless softwares over on first page biggrin.gif

I'm too looking for laptop cooler. but since Asus current notebooks have little vents on the bottom, i wonder if notebook cooler will make any differences in the real world, no one have done any real temperature benchmark on this 2 models yet i think hmm.gif

Okay, gonna go dl bios 218, and the 285.62. Doing it now smile.gif

Question. Regarding directX, I only have D10 installed. Should I keep it this way or dl D11? does it even matter? Or only download when prompted (when some games are D11able?)

I just got this at the PIKOM PC fair on Saturday and this computer is simply divine! It played my hi-def movies like a charm and so far has taken what few graphic intensive games I've thrown at it, mainly Team Fortress 2 and Tropico 4. The screen is magnificent and the don't get me started on the bundled sub-woofer.

I'm still getting used to the keyboard though.

If you get too worried about the temperature, u can use throttle stop. reducing the speed of CPU when it's turned on. Can aso be used to disable turbo boost smile.gif

Guys, I just bought the N45SF yesterday from the pc fair. I tried to flash the BIOS to ver. 219 earlier this morning.
So I downloaded the bios from the support website and went into Asus Easy Flash from the BIOS.
Upon selecting the BIOS file, a message popped up saying something like "Bios update version does not match. Force to update anyway? (Y/N)" Then I thought, "It's from the support website anyway, might as well do it." -Presses Enter key on the "Yes" option- Now, I am absolutely sure that I have downloaded the BIOS from the correct model site.
All seemed fine, it was updating well. Until the "BB" part or something finished, the screen turned black but the lights were still on. So I waited for awhile, tried pressing keys, nothing responded. About 30 minutes later I unplugged the A/C Adapter and the battery, turning it off cause I thought it hanged or something.
Then when I plugged the A/C Adapter back in and pressed the power key, it didn't turn on.
Help would be appreciated on this matter. D:

While updating the BIOS I had my battery and A/C Adapter plugged in, by the way.

Thank you biggrin.gif

Haven't had any real problems with high temp yet so can't really comment on it. Perhaps you should get a notebook cooler?

make sure u have a 'tick' on your 'disable turbo' n make sure it's turn on. den if u wanna further reduce temp, u can tick on the 'set multiplier' n reduce it to maybe 20 or less. then you will see ur speed being reduced to 1.9GHz biggrin.gif
