dude how to check fps while playing game? Also is this true... it gets more heated when u play on ur native resolution if its full hd than normal hd which is 1366x768 ?? i'm running games in full hd and got max temps of 95 C while playing assassin's creed. now should i run this game at lower resolution or is it normal to get that much heat.

use "fraps" program.. download free from the net.. for my n45sf.. when i wanted to play heavy game in Full HD (hdmi SINGLE display on my 40" hd lcd tv) .. the temp is as usual/sometimes better (with cooler pad).. just a tiny lagging but still awesome..

ok now i don't run an external monitor or tv and use only my laptop screen to play games. its a full hd display and games run smoothly on my 1920x1080 res settings. but the problem is its getting hotter and reaches 90 C in few hours and fifa 11 stopped responding after a while. i don't use a cooler btw but should i run these games in 1366x768 res so that it doesn't heat up so much???

mm.. i also not clear about the n55sf users temp review here.. mi guess u r right cos my gpu temp while heavy gaming wouldnt reach 90 c... except the CPU temp that slightly higher than the gpu temp which usually around 88 to 94 celsius.. i think it is general and no worries here i guess.. yet heard that this gt555 can drive to max 120 celsius!.. anyway, do check your task manager to get rid of any unwanted/unknown running program that might caused the higher temp (or using game booster).. and its better prevent by putting on a any cooler pad and as usual to take of battery while heavy gaming...

i see.. take off battery hmm.. but the system would shut down as soon the power goes off right. will try to get a cooler pad , works fairly good but seems kind of shabby to use it as the laptop has to be placed above it all the time.

by the way, how's ur n45sf?? i would have bought this one if it's selling at my place , that processor won't heat as much as mine and i love the screen size. whats the difference in money for it with n55sf?

if u found any temp drop when lowered the res compared to FHD... then its good enough for ur lappy lifespan..

Does the freeze occur after you add in the new RAM?
When the freeze happens and you restart, can you open Event Viewer - Windows Logs - Applications, and look for Error that related with the COD4 ?

RAM wise, don't really have much setting to set since its just plug n play. At most can try swap the RAM slot.

Can use MSI AfterBurner to check the FPS as well.
Technically both should give similar temp. since your GPU will always try to run as fast as it can (100% GPU Usage), but if you enable VSYNC, and the 720p gaming can gives you more than 60FPS, it will result in lower temp, since it doesn't need to work as hard as 1080p gaming..

hehe.. IMO thru these thread.. As for our kind of nb here, regardless of 45 and 55 users.. we used to encounter quite surprising temp findings during heavy gaming.. and i would say that heat issue is still a continuous concerns from all the SF users here!.. when gaming..
usually the gamers would take off the battery and plugged in the power adapter cable for a better & stunning gaming experiences while to prolong battery lifespan as well.. plus, advisedly to work in a good and colder air circulation area such in A/C room or etc... otherwise, cooler pad is the last option as for mine..
In fact, it has no different in money when u compare to the 1st version of n55sf.. both were great and HOT!! hehe
perhaps i was lucky to have a good hardware condition + having some system maintenance experiences / guides from all the pros n sifus here...

alright ... and whats the program u use to detect temp readings of processor and gpu? i got core temp and it shows all readings of my 4 cores only n not the gpu.

HWmonitor, OpenHardwareMonitor, HWInfo, Everest, etc..

u need to find a program with "force uninstall" such as auslogic boot speed... revo uninstaller pro & etc..

anyone installed GPUZ? i installed it and it crashes everytime i select the GT555 from the drop down menu..installed it twice still same prob persist

thanks i reinstal atk then reinstall music the thing is wheni press the button music now dint show up

mine is gpu-z 0.5.4 with nvidia 285.62 driver..
