QUOTE(Happyman @ Nov 15 2011, 11:22 PM) QUOTE(wira1979 @ Nov 16 2011, 12:32 AM) Now that is mad skills. Are you sure whatever you're doing to get 65% NCD is not illegal? Max is 55% NCDIf it's not, share here lah how you can get for the benefit of all. If it is, ahem ahem please PM me However, if you goto car insurer counter to do your own new application/NCD transfer/etc. (no runners, as they'll check your IC), you get rebate another 10%, which usually goes to the insurance agent pocket if they do the running for you. It is perfectly legal, under new BNM guidelines for insurance companies, I recall implemented 1-2 years ago (IINM). To renew your car insurance next year, just prepare the basic-info and you can do it over the counter yourself to save extra 10%. - market value to insure - windscreen coverage - other add-on: natural disaster ? P.A. ? road-assist ? etc. Some insurance companies have JPJ kiosk (don't know what E-whatever) at their lobby also. After pay insurance, can straight renew road-tax. Save another RM10-20 runner fees For more info, google search "bnm car insurance rebate 10%" Added on November 16, 2011, 5:19 pmEdit: I think the JPJ kiosk thing is called MyEG or something like that This post has been edited by cute_boboi: Nov 16 2011, 05:19 PM |

QUOTE(wira1979 @ Nov 16 2011, 05:29 PM) Useful info bro, thanks for sharing. Just wondering, is this any different from renewing your road-tax online via MyEG? Car insurance and road tax are two different thing.Do you still get the 10% extra discount? Car insurance do ownself = rebate 10% Road tax do ownself = nothing saved, except runner fees. I'm not sure, never try MyEG online before. Do they charge some fees to courier/deliver the road-tax to you ? |

QUOTE(wira1979 @ Nov 16 2011, 06:20 PM) For my previous car, I recall paying for insurance renewal via MyEG. Don't recall ever getting any extra 10% hence my question. AFAIK, must renew insurance at counter to get 10% rebate, as the insurer need to verify is you (and not agent/runner).For road-tax, I believe they send to you for free. Very, very convenient actually. Therefore, I think renew insurance through MyEG is not entitle extra 10% However, I'm not sure also if renew insurance through MBB got extra 10% as stated in previous Broleo post. |

QUOTE(Kerry1136 @ Nov 30 2011, 02:47 PM) Ello, been following this thread for quite some time now. Initially I wanted to get a 1.4 Roc by pushing my budget to the limit but when I went to the showroom yesterday and tested out the golf 1.4 I was equally surprised by the acceleration thrill though the exterior seems a tad normal. Kena poison already The SA advice me to go for Golf and with the extra budget to do some modification instead, so here are my questions hope some Golf TSI sifu's can advice. 1) Current package I got was 3 free service, 8K + 5K overtrade, go for it or wait for next batch 2012? 2) Any rumors for the new batch of 2012 golf's? (Sunroof, push start etc) 3) Front bumper not so nice, is there anyone modded their Golf TSI to other BK? 4) 16" Atlanta rims require to change, what is the recommended 17" Inch rims? I heard most people get the denver and polished to detroits, how do they actually do that? 5) I heard stage 1 upgrade by ABT is more expensive because it includes insurance but other upgrades from APR etc is cheaper, so what are the risks and recommended stage 1 upgrade? Too many questions, too little to answer, hope the Golf 1.4 Sifu modders can provide some info here. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « If looks is what you want, go for Roc. If practicality of 4-door for passengers, then go for Golf. Yes, it does look plain outside, but a beast inside (engine + DSG gearbox) I choose 4-door due to I only own a single car, for personal/small family use. 1) Actually, it's up to you. If you don't need it urgent, wait next year to get 2011 pre-reg. More cheaper. For 2012 batch, by the time the ship reach Port Klang, clear Customs, the estimated earliest is about Mar-Apr if the showroom got order it every month/quarter. If not, maybe earliest is May-Jun-Jul... FYI, current Golf yr2011 are already 2012 model/accessories IINM. Look at the VIN number WVWZZZ1KZCW______ the 10th char, i.e. C, indicates it is yr2012 model. Note that westerners like to launch new products during Summer (Jul-Aug) 2) If you say want to wait for the re-model or MK7 Even that, we may not get full-spec imported in, due to tax/duties/AP issues. 3) Sure, a lot of mod out there. 4) As explained above by Mavik. Send to certain shops to do it. 5) Warranty void on engine, gearbox and many other things. Like they always say: Scare don't mod, mod don't scare If performance is what you want, go straight to GTI / R My depreciated 2 cents. |

QUOTE(JoshuaLee @ Dec 8 2011, 02:25 PM) thanks for quick reply. will check regarding the chartis insurance and etc. Some famous tinting: V-kool, but there are some who says it will 'rust'tinting: Can't go wrong with branded ones? any particular ones? heat reduction is crucial. how dark can our tint go? would any mods to the lights and brakes void any sort of warranty? Others like 3M, Huper-Optik, Llumar are on ceramics/nano. Eco-Tint, etc. Sorry if miss out any. JPJ is 70% & 50% light-pass-thru. Take note VW Golf windscreens are slightly tinted already (~10%) Hence, the legal tint will be 70% front and 50% side. But it'll be quite bright, hence most will break the rule If modify lights and brakes, definitely they'll claim to void the electrical wiring, tyres, brakes, suspension, absorber, arm, etc. Mod don't scare. Scare don't mod |

QUOTE(JoshuaLee @ Dec 8 2011, 02:58 PM) agree on the scared, don't mod. mod, don't be scared.... Even if you do tinting yourself outside, they will "warn" that will void warranty in case damage the electronic board in front dashboard, or door trimmings, power window, etc. All that they can bull.but i need to know what are the things that can be mod without losing my warranty so i can do what i can and should. suspensions? brakes? rear tail lights? urgent help required, please PM me... Perhaps the few things you can modify are those that you stick outside for very minimal cosmetic purpose, like shark-fin fake-antenna on the rear-roof, rear-roof spoiler, maybe change that piece of number-plate to CF, or maybe skirting. The SC may want to argue that skirting void this and that too Don't even think about bigger item / those that need dismantling like tyres, rims, brakes, exhaust, or anything inside engine compartment Scared of losing warranty ? Don't mod |

QUOTE(glenns @ Dec 20 2011, 07:03 PM) that suppose to vaporize the water drop on the both side mirrors and you can feel the heat by touching on it after on it for a while. Correct me if i'm wrong. My opinion is it should operate similiar to the rear-windscreen demister, i.e. to remove the mist/fog, but not able to boil-off droplets of water.Wait some sifu/expert opinions. |

QUOTE(sjc @ Dec 29 2011, 09:10 AM) guys, not sure if you've encountered this before when adjusting your air-con temperature. European cars, come with heater.usually i put the air con temperature between 22-24.weird thing happened this morning is that at 24, the air was hot. 25 and above its totally hot air. any idea on this? Try notice, is the outside temperature <28°C ? When you set it to 25, most likely you already feel cold, i.e. the internal temperature is <24°C. Therefore, the climatronic control will try to balance up the temperature to 25°C, hence switch on the heater and blow some warm air for you. I suggest to set highest 24°C. If you still feel cold, just switch off the A/C for a while and keep the blower running. Added on December 29, 2011, 1:58 pm QUOTE(sjc @ Dec 29 2011, 01:56 PM) Pretty sure AC was ON all the time. Anyway, i went and tried out again just now. Seems fine though. hehe. Of course. Now is noon time and outside temperature should be 30-33°C Setting to 25°C will still kick-in the compressor for cold air. This post has been edited by cute_boboi: Dec 29 2011, 01:58 PM |

QUOTE(jaylike7 @ Mar 19 2012, 04:04 PM) seen the Golf R myself last week, seriously the look itself is so freakin sexy and the bucket seats, feel very comfort and pampered once sit in. Yes, it's soft to me too. While cornering and also going over road-humps.too bad malaysia doesn't have 3 doors version. certainly the 3 doors version is more sporty than the 5 doors. anyway, does anyone notice the golf tsi suspension is abit on the soft side? kinda bumpy compare to my previous car toyota vios, is it norm? The front seems heavier than my previous car and feels like heavy-dipping after the front axle goes across the hump. My previous car is lighter and the dipping feel is not as bad. |

QUOTE(ma43q @ Mar 22 2012, 12:02 PM) frosti3, only the full spec golf tsi (nearly RM160k) available in kuching. because there is no basic model available here. polo gti cost about RM14x,xxx and golf tsi priced at RM158,xxx if im not mistaken. my max budget is roughly at polo gti price. What about buy from Peninsular Malaysia (e.g. 2011 model) and ship to Kuching ?well, im satisfied with the polo tsi for everyday use to work and to commute in the city. I think there is a forumer here who bought from KL, mod it, ship to KK and drive to Tawau. I'm not sure on the shipping/container charges though. |

I was told that the A6 costs around RMB340,000, which over here can only buy you a Camry or Accord lol... yeah, same in Shanghai. A lot of A6 on the road. Seems like no one drives A4.VW? No need to say, China people's car, sure cheap and aplenty...haih. Golf is rare also. A lot of small Polo cars. Most people drive VW Phaeton, Sagitar, Magotan, ... all big sedans. |

Initially, I was contemplating red colour as my first choice. The Amryllis red is as close to what r3kahsttub post above. It is a deeper/darker/blacker shade of red. Deeper than GTI red.
Tornado red is really bright chilli hot red. Open PC paintbrush, RGB-255-0-0. Very 'garang' In the end, last minute, changed to candy white |
