I don't think rocco 1.4 has TPMS.

QUOTE(everclear @ May 6 2012, 10:37 PM)
I've been planning to get the golf mk7 but my wife just got pregnant. We decided to get safer cars before the baby arrive at the end of the year. So I am planning to get the mk6 now anyway.

Q1. May I ask if the backseats are baby seat friendly/compatible? (thinking of getting a Graco My Ride 65 convertible.)

Q2. At this time of the year, how much discount can I expect to get and how long roughly is the waiting period for a golf tsi?

Thanks.
*
A1. Yes, I was cleaning up my TSI last weekend. There are buckle slots at rear driver side to slot it or buckle-strap the baby seat. Note that it is just the slot, your child seat should have the strap. Check out at showroom again for complete details.

A2. For 2011 or pre-reg, I would expect more than RM12-15k discount + at least 2-3 free service. For 2012 reg, I think not much discount, maybe RM1-3k only. Check out with different SA.

My SA says got special promo price for Polo Sedan 2012.
Interest rate 1.6x%

I didn't call for details though. Anyone interested should check out the VW showrooms.

Sounds like the MU/Clutch death-syndrome. Mind sharing:
(1) Mileage how many km already ?
(2) Month and Year bought ?
(3) Your driving style, normal drive, or step hard 4-7k rpm always ?
(4) City / highway drive % ?

Heard a confirm news pending for official release that Polo GTI price will be increasing for next batch of cars. Shucks I booked it any yet to get the car. Depending on the price I might want to opt for Golf TSi.

Which one you would chose Polo GTi or Golf Tsi if the price is the same?
*
If this is your only car, I'll choose Golf for slightly bigger space inside and better trim.

If this is your spare fun car, get the Polo GTI.

Banned SHINE TECH car wash @USJ. Lift up my wiper n turn on caused my bonnet paint chip off!!!
*
I took the initiative to inform the car-wax boss on how to move the wiper to vertical position before lift up. He doesn't know about it, but he did wax for many other expensive cars like 7-series, sports car, 2-door coupe, etc.
Better be safe than sorry.

me also first time~

got VW fren teach press once to lift up but i tried yday it up then down back...

how the tactic?
*
I recall is the key must be pulled out / off totally.
Then plug in key.
Then forgot need to turn ignition to switch on the electronics or not.
Then tap once to the bottom.
It'll move to vertical and stop there.
Go try & error if lazy read the manual.

Officially, you need to inform JPJ & Insurance.

ahh right, insurance. hmm. possible if i spray it first and deal with the paperwork later?
*
On your side, you can inform insurance anytime you want.

My suggestion is to inform ASAP.

There are cases previously (for any cars), due to certain accident, and colour does not match, the insurance company rejected the claim.

Today my SA told me that my Golf which suppose to be collected next week is 2011 AP. This mean my car is manufactured on 2011. They offered me 5k cash discount, free insurance, free roadtax, & free 3 service. Total discount is more than 12k, but is this consider good deal since now already June 2012?
*
Nope. YR2011 should get more cash discount than that, not counting other freebies like free service, etc.

2012 cars is not getting any free service.
I need something to support my claim that their offer of 12k is way lower than others is getting.
Does anyone who got their 2011 car where discount is more than 12k, can provide me the supporting docs?
Need these to back my claim to negotiate for more discount.
*
Most will not have supporting docs, all verbal.
These are workarounds most (if not all) VW dealers are doing, no choice, for sales purpose.
VAGM are aware, but without black & white proof, they can't take action, although some actions/penalty have been taken against the dealers.

Therefore, VAGM is very strict and dealers have to follow, as not to spoil market by throw price everywhere (which is good for consumers like us). But we're here in Malaysia, anything goes, dealer/SA will still have unofficial/verbal deals for customers.

Most of us here are cautious not to mention/print too specific or detail figures here, there are SA around the thread, which in a way, they need to cari makan also. Some customers manage to get super great deals, and if posted, some who get lesser may feel bu++ hurt also.

BTW, I'm not SA, just sharing from neutral stand.

My suggestion, try ask a few outlets/SA for the deals of 2011 and 2012. Also for new-reg and pre-reg prices.
From there, you can get the ball-park figure on which number you are comfortable with.

I got a friend who know someone from OKR branch. I'd ask for his help to ask what is the promotion VW giving on Feb/ Mar when they doing promotion to clear the 2011 stock.

What i was told is cash discount + free insurance + free roadtax + free 3 service. Total value is about RM10.5k for 2011 car. This is official discount given by VW on Feb/ Mar.
*
2011 is new (un-reg) or pre-reg ?

is unregistered 2011 car

Free insurance = 4k premium. If your NCD 55% + extra DIY = ~1.8k premium only.
Roadtax TSI = 70, GTI = 300+
3x Free service = roughly 600 + 800 + 1200 = 2600

Total non-cash if 55% NCD for TSI
= ~4.5k only

I'm not sure what it means by free insurance, how do they calculate and pay the premium ?
If they pay on your behalf with 55%, you won't save 4k, you save <2k only.
Unless they pay you 4k, they you settle yourself with insurance 2k, and pocket it, but this is very unlikely.

Therefore, if I'm in your shoes, I'll calculate mine as cash 5k + 4.5k
= 9.5k discount only.

If I'm in your shoes, I'll:
- take out insurance and put into cash. I'll settle with my insurer to eliminate the NCD case above.
- roadtax rm70 is peanut for that car price. Not really matter, or even a full tank.
- 3x free service = ok
- I'll try nego cash discount at least 10-15k range. Otherwise, might as well request for 2012 made & AP car.
Or don't rush by emo to buy it.

Just my opinion, others may differ.

on the insurance part, they're giving me refund via cheque (about 4k+)
then they're giving 5k refund which same as your calculation with total to about RM9.5k

I'll nego with them again for at least few k discount since now already end of June.
*
ya. Coz europe normally launch car during summer (Jun-Aug). The end-2011 (10th char is 'C' if I recall correctly) is actually launch around June 2011, which is already 1 year car, depreciate at least 12-18k already if sell.

Then, many news/rumours are saying the MK7 will launch very soon in coming weeks or months, and if it is true, the first batch MK7 should reach our shores by year end or early 2013. Question is (if it is true), can you wait ?
What if the MK7 batch delay 6-12 months to reach our shores due to global demand ?

I'm really starting to suspect what my SA told me - that the bi-xenon lights do not swivel and it's only the fog lights. Btw I drive a golf.

Paultan's blog said it pretty clear that the light swivels and I've read a few overseas forum. I turned off 'travel mode' in the mfi but it doesn't work either.

My light is on "auto" mode, what did I miss?
*
Try this in dark area/carpark/night, with your car facing wall so that can see easily.
- Remember put the head-light switch to Auto
- Put key in, turn and start the engine as usual.
- You should see the headlights got up/down/left/right/centre.

If not, bring back to SC/SA and ask them.

If engine already started, then only switch from Off -> Auto, it won't work.

I got a question,

if i turn my lights to AUTO then turn off the engine, the lights will be off.
When I unlock my car later, the headlight will be auto turn on for about 10 secs, is this normal? Will this affecting the car's battery life?
*
You can set in MFD if want the main-headlight to switch on or not.

Of course it'll affect the battery in some ways, since it is pulling power from the battery while the engine is not started.
Same as listening to radio/CD when the engine is turned off.

Hi all Jetta owners,
Do you guys need to top up engine oil one in a while even before the 15000km service intervals? I also heard there are a few irritating noise come from the dorrs and also below the stearing? Is this issues normal? I will be getting mine in few days would like to inspect properly before getting it. Thanks.
*
If not yet fall below 'Low', just leave it till next service. Unless you do long highway run, then top-up to middle.
Some choose to do minor-service at 7500km. Change engine oil.

How to set if MFD?
I want to put the light in auto mode (driving), but I don't want it to be auto switch on when I unlock my car...
*
Car stationary.
Scroll to settings, IINM under Lights
There is a Coming Home / Leaving Home.
Tick the lights you want.

Leaving Home means you go towards your car and unlock to drive away. You can set the lights you want.
Coming Home means you reach destination, get down and lock the car.

That was what i complained about when I collected my car after the SW update.
But most 1.4 owners said no difference or smoother gear change but never said sluggish. ... rclxub.gif
*
After upgrade 1.4 TSI DSG to 37G7, I notice it holds the gear longer (higher RPM) before it upshifts under normal-light foot acceleration from gear 1-3. Previously it upshifts at 2.2-2.5 k RPM, now sometimes it upshifts at 2.8-3.2k RPM.
Other than that, have not feel any other difference yet.
