i had seen the polo sedan in volkswagen kuching about a month ago. 2 cars were parked at the 2 floor and fully covered with canvas. I was shown the 2 cars and if not mistaken, powered by 1.6L NA engine with DSG if i remember correctly. Anyway, the car offer bigger boot space and i think more spacious than the polo sport ----> family car. However, i still prefer the polo sport smile.gif

let me share what i was told by volkswagen kuching regarding servicing the cars in sarawak. There is only one service center for sarawak, which is in kuching of course. However, what they do is that every 6 months, their mobile service center (a tiguan loaded with gadgets which cost more than the tiguan itself) will go from for a road trip till Miri City to serve the customers. so to me its pretty ok. Then volkswagen provides the 5 years mobility guarantee too.

Hmm, the polo sedan is suppose to launch last month and Volkswagen wanted to sell it below rm100k but i guess the negotiation did not go well. maybe similar case to hyundai elantra.

I saw a vw polo gti black color in Kch. Is that u? smile.gif
Yeap I also saw that too. For me, the body size quite similar to the proton saga.

Used to be big fan of T brand and I don't know how I start to get crazy about the vw brand lately. Test drove the vw polo tsi twice and intended to book a polo GTi but my wife don't want to let go the old car.
*
There are 2 polo gti in kuching and neither one is mine (how i wish it's mine). i'm using a white polo sport. there was no stock for the gti version so i could not wait and went for the only white polo coming in but seriously no regret and never want to look at jap or korean car again. initially i booked a hyundai elantra 1.8L but canceled it due to the delay. So i went to try out the elantra 1.6L and revved it but transmission, engine noise and built quality were not comparable.

I think it is because you were "poisoned" by the polo tsi. it happened to me too. I also never think about going to test a VW, let along buying one but here i'm.... very very deadly poison......... tongue.gif

Perhaps its more or less similar to the saga in term of cabin space and that's about it. Pity if the price is above rm100k.

be patient during break in period  biggrin.gif

last night i just changed halogen bulb to osram night breaker plus (H7 for both main & high beam)
instruction's pretty simple, followed the steps in owner's manual
definitely brighter & more range than stock ^^
*
i have both the osram nite breaker plus h4 (hyundai i10)and philips xtreme vision h4 (hyundai getz) and i found that the xtreme vision throw more light. The osram nitebreaker is slightly whiter due to the blue tint.

Anyway, im using the philips xtreme vision h7 (hi and low) and philips blue vision ultra W5W (parking light).definitely brighter than the stock.

I asked the volkswagen technician to change for me before i picked up my car. easier that way. smile.gif

Hey Guys,

have anyone of you change your fog lamp to halogen light? coz i'm thinking of changing it...

any recommendation or spec i need to check before i buy the bulk? i read online is i need to look for H7 light bulb for VW.

btw, mine is golf 1.4tsi.
*
H8 is a "rare species". As far as i know, both Osram and Philips do not manufacture h8 bulbs for their nitebreaker plus and xtreme vision series respectively. So i just stick to the stock ones.

rm102,888.00 for polo sedan in kuching. OTR price will be slightly higher. Plain and basic but solid built. Maybe tomorrow i will go for a test drive.

for me, its too empty to be a VW. they dint even bother to use a digital aircon controller and yet replace the HU with an uglier one.
*
initially the polo non-sport also came with the RCD 210 (the same one as in polo sedan). If u want a digital control for air-cond, u have to go for at least a polo GTI.

Anyway, if too plain, go for polo sport but have to add another rm14k and also have to wait for them to ship it over.

i think rcd210 is a bit too plain. rcd310 is decent enough. rcd510 is cool

just want to share my experience when i waited for my white polo sport. The manager told me silver will have to wait till end of april but a white one is coming end of march. Since the guy who wanted the white polo didn't not make any booking, he would give the car to me first since my loan was approved and downpayment paid.

So i waited and the car arrive in the showroom on wednesday and the sales girl said she would try her best to deliver the car on the same week, if there was no delay in registration. I received the car the same week, on saturday. pretty good.

let me quote from the letter:

"... The software update will improve its efficiency and optimized the gear shifting..."

and VW would be giving me a RM100 redemption value, valid on VW genuine parts, accessories and mechandise.
