Cloudy, it depends on the pattern.... this must do more research coz I also not very sure about the cloudy pattern for glaucoma or cataract. But if Cataract, you can see clearly, it's the iris that will become whitish...

Cataract, if detected early can help coz soft, can be taken out but if the cataract is too long, it will harden and this means cannot do much but eye removal... kinda pitiful... so we must always jaga our dog's eyes. Don't care shih tzu or silky or MS or GR.... we must never neglect the eyes.

If the vet also dunno... get a 2nd opinion.... I heard UPM got a vet that is said to be an eye specialist.... AMC should have a vet that is able to treat eyes as well.

Tear stain remover won't work wan... all rubbish and a waste of money. The best is cleaning with a warm wet cloth or cotton wipes. Then apply artificial tear drops to the eyes if the dog has dry eyes but actually these artificial tears are best used daily on shih tzus and dogs with bulging eyes... this was what the vet told me lah, I can't remember the reason.

Anyway... tear stains appear because of a bacteria. Red Yeast. You see, if your dog tears alot and you rarely clean the eyes properly, the bacteria will grow, causing red yeast to develop and red yeast causes the fur to be brownish or reddish. This is why you must clean with warm water a few times a day. But there are other causes too.... it can be genetic like if both parents tear alot, the puppies will tear alot and develop more tearing. Another is tear duct infection. But majority of tear staining is caused by Red Yeast lah. For me, my CKCS had that at one stage.... just wipe a few times a day and wash with tearless whitening shampoo once a week works for me.

My Chelsea had lots of tearing when she was teething.... but now, very little tearing and she is 2 years old. So it's quite normal during puppyhood.

No... wetfood is not advisable to feed if on dry food. Wet food has lower protein content, is more for dogs that are sick or with sensitive stomachs because wet food digest easily.

Do not spoil your dog with wetfood, later everyday also need to feed. Example is my aunt's Pekingese, everyday eat Ceasar, eats 4 containers of Ceasar, no ceasar wetfood, the dog won't eat anything else..... so if your dog on Orijen, why wanna add stuff that is lower quality? Just stick to the Orijen dry food. Wetfood is loaded with flavours, gels and water, not much meat content if you read the nutrition label.

Start good teeth cleaning now. No need to wait till the dog has all the permanent teeth. Later is going to be harder to clean.

Use a wet cloth with diluted baking soda water, it works well. The tooth paste for dogs smells weird.... and it is made of baking soda as well. Just rub the teeth after every meal.

Wetfood and cooked food is the biggest caused for rotten teeth. This happened to my shih tzu, every year we bring him to vet to clean his teeth last time and it cost around RM100 to Rm150 each time.... and each time the vet needs to pull out 1 or 2 teeth coz too rotten.... So..... don't risk it. I spoiled my old dog that way so now I know do not ever give wetfood. So stressful coz the vet will injection the dog to be sedated, then he will pull out the tongue, stuck a tube into the throat so air can go in and the cleaning process is not fast too....

Well, baking soda water is cheaper and just as effective as the toothpaste.... I bought the dog toothpaste by Hartz... smells so awful.... tooth brush you can buy children tooth brush or the special rubber finger toothbrush. Cloth works fine as well.... at the end it is your individual preference lah, i'm just giving a home made solution. I bought organic baking soda, RM2.50 only for 500g while the smelly toothpaste was RM18 I think....

The one I got is from the Organic shop at Ikano.... same floor with A&W there.... if I remember correctly should be Rm2.50.... but anyway, no other place sell 500g hahaha.... it is effective and deodorizing too.... if say dog pee on bed, cover the mattress with a layer and put the bedsheet on top, won't smell pee at all.

I also use cloth and tissue to absorb the pee 1st.... after that I only cover with the baking soda... so far it works

Slip disc only happen when the dog jumps from high places, pressure is applied to the spine mah during those activities....

Slip disc happens often to dogs with long bodies and sort legs... shih tzus have slightly longer bodies. Dachshund, basset hound, corgis... prone to slip disc too.

You will know when the dog has slip disc... it won't walk properly and will be in pain.... I had a dachshund once.... he always got back problems but that time I was like 8 years old, I dunno much about dogs....

Lhasa apso can grow slightly bigger than shih tzus.... they have a longer muzzle, eyes also different, hair is different texture....

Lipstick? Well, how much did it consume? The whole stick? Do you have the packaging or know the brand? If it only took a bit then it won't cause any harm but if it took alot, go to a pharmacy, buy Activated Charcoal/Carbon tablets and let your dog swallow 1 tablet. Activated Charcoal absorbs poison out of the system....

Hmmm.... well, if you feel worried, do call your vet and ask about the drawbacks or danger of it. Once my old dog ate my colour pencils... nothing happen and the vet said it's mild so ok.

The most common fungus is ring worm. If you do not follow the treatment well, it can go on and on without vanishing.

There are a few steps you must take.

Wash all the towels, cage, brush and comb with a mixture of 1 small cap of Bleach with 1 pail of water. Detol would not help. Fungus is a spore, like a mushroom. Bleach can kill the spore. Certain fungus can pass on to humans as I have experienced this before with cats. It will cause rashes or itchy areas which will turn pinkish at first, then it will become flaky, then it spreads.

Follow the medicine on time. Fungus can be wet and once it dries up, it will break, causing the spores to spread on the body. The medication helps by drying up the fungus and killing it before it releases the spores.

The shampoo helps in reducing skin irritation and itching. There are cheaper anti-fungal shampoo.... I think McLee's is only RM17. As long the shampoo contains sulfur, it helps to reduce the fungal infection and soothes the skin.

Your dog could be reacting to someting.... shampoo not wash off completely or food or something on the place that she sleeps in.... This is a bit common in puppies... but if you are worried.... can seek a vet's consultation... only less than RM30 mah.

Bleach.... is... erm.... Clorox... to make shirt white white.... It's a clear liquid, no colour. Sell to wash clothes.

The shampoo from the vet, is good. Use it for about 3 weeks and see, if you do not see improvement, seek another vet.

Yes, Fungus likes to grow and spread on wet areas.... must always keep the legs dry. Don't you use hair dryer on Toro after bath?

Yes... but only use to wash the cage and floor and towel lah.... cannot wash dog with it hahahah.

You must not use the hot hair dryer.... if yours is hot, put the dryer far away, like 1.5ft away.... he will feel very hot and can burn his skin.
