Other than the processor, this phone is very similar to the galaxy w.
*
you are gravely mistaken my friend. processor is not the only thing. the major thing is the storage on the neo v is only 320 MB compared to galaxy w's 2 GB usb storage. of course you can extend with microsd but out of the box galaxy w can stand on its own at least without a card. that alone is a big enough selling point for anyone.

Well storage isn't really an issue to me,if i'm not mistaken the Neo V comes with a 2GB Micro SD card out of the box. smile.gif
*
internal/usb storage beats external storage la come on..you're like saying a 16gb internal storage is just as good as a 1gb internal storage where you can just add in a 16gb external microsd to fight / compensate.

But bear in mind. Even internal memory is high, but gameloft games that cannot install in external sd mean useless. Neo might have low internal but at least can move games to external sd.
because SGW have internal memory, internal SD (/sdcard/) and external sd (/sdcard/externalsd).
but Neo only have internal memory and external SD (/sdcard/). hmm.gif
and when buy gameloft games, data file default save at (/sdcard/), so when come to SGW, unable to install in external sd as directory is different.
Thus higher internal memory compare to Neo also useless.
unless rooting the SGW which most of us dont want. cry.gif

*Correct me if I'm mistake as I HAVEN'T buy SGW yet. tongue.gif
struggling because of new 3 layers of memory structures. ><
*
yup you are right. not much can be done on this issue. the processor is also another big reason why people are buying this device. Its pure numbers. Processor is better than Neo V and the storage is larger (although not necessarily better) than the Neo V. When the consumer sees this - obviously the Samsung Galaxy W is the more preferred choice.

i not sure about the earpiece  problem.. but if call quality is as you all say not good,, try switch to gsm mode. i seldom use 3g ,so usually i also put to gsm mode,, so far dont have problem.  battery performance i also satisfy  after 26hours stanbdy  + little gaming and skype video call,, now still have 69% @@.  just 1 thing i dont understand why skype video call cant do like skype voice call  have loud  volume . also camera quality so so  only.
*
this might make sense, my wife is always on 2G / GSM mode only, so maybe could try on 2G/GSM mode if not already in that mode and see if got difference?

Anyone tried to connect a USB-memory or a mouse etc. to the phone???
Does it have OTG???
*
this only works in honeycomb and ICS - its called USB host. what do you mean by OTG??

Update: NVM, what u mean is USB on the go..as I mentioned, only supported by honeycomb and ICS. Gingerbread doesnt support this AFAIK

ngkhanmein : I will update to you.

CyberKewl: USB OTG do support for android, but only SGS2. not other I guess. oh ya, Xperia phone too, but only limited to docks and usb consoler gamepad. Correct me if I'm mistake.
*
oh..i didnt know that. my mistake. i thought only honeycomb and ics supports this natively..maybe samsung and SE did some modifications to the OS to add the support in

from 8.30am until 4.30pm..battery from full charged now only 28% left..battery drain quite fast compared to my wildfire 1st Gen..both on Data connection, sync etc..my wildfire will last more than 12 hours without any battery saver apps..quite disappointed with this SW..

I am wondering how some of SW users can make their battery tahan..
*
you're either using 3G turned on / wifi / GPS / bluetooth left turned on. my wife's SGW didnt charge for 1 day still left 64% yesterday. Of course she just use for normal call and sms.

guys..
is it worth trade in my htc desire for samsung galaxy W..?? i facing problem on my desire, the rom space after install gingeread and htc sense only left up 150mb..install 4,5 app already get warning sign saying internal storage out of space..i know galaxy w have 2GB rom but how many space left after install the gingeread and touhwiz interface..any1 have this info..share with me please..
*
u get full 2 GB internal storage place. I am using Nexus One and I also got thought of selling it to buy Galaxy W but I think Nexus One / HTC Desire still better cos u can use the full external SD without rooting whereas for galaxy W to use the external SD for games like gameloft data u need to be rooted to run some script to do some mapping and stuff..

agree with CyberKewl. You must bear in mind that new phone from Samsung and LG offer 3 layers memory for phone which is internal memory, internal SD (/mnt/sdcard) and external SD (/mnt/sdcard/external_sd).
where other or old phone have 2 layers which is internal memory and external SD (/mnt/sdcard).

when download gameloft games, data file is save at default directory ( /mnt/sdcard/),
it is save to external sd card for 2 layers memory phone but comes to 3 layers phones (SGS,SGS2 and SGW),
it save to internal sd, so only 2GB can use for games.
must root, or use 3rd party apps to mount or patch ur games file only can move to external sd in SGW.
bear in mind. >,<
(I think this should include to the detail of the phones in top post, some people might don't know about this information.)

bingo. well explained. i was confused at first when i saw my wife's phone but after seeing the filesystem structure i understood it finally..

i just spoke with my wife asking her about call quality, sms issues, etc - she never faced any of that..call quality is ok, no issues...so i guess its either your phone really got problem or the area you are using got problem..btw my wife is on digi prepaid..also no sms failed to send issues whatsoever either...

another review of Galaxy W :

http://www.mobilityfeeds.com/mobility-feed...one-review.html

Here's what they mentioned about the call quality:
"Call quality was very good in our tests.
The volume was loud, voices sounded strong, clear, and true, though a tiny bit hazy, and there wasn't any other regular background noise.
We did intermittently hear an odd high-frequency whine, though it wasn't disruptive enough to throw off the conversational flow.
It was more or less the same story on the caller's end as well, with strong volume and a clear background line, plus voice quality that was a tad muddy around the edges.

Speakerphone was very loud for both parties when we held the phone at waist level, a plus in this case since this regular test caller has noted that other phones slice volume in half.
Still, our voice sounded distant and echoey to our caller, who added that they didn't want to maintain a longer conversation over it if they didn't have to.
The echo was also apparent on our end, but less so, and the line remained clear, without background interruptions or blips."

Samsung phones always got some hidden problems.  SOD, wifi problems, send SMS problems, incoming call volume problems... sigh...

i'm not sure it is the phone problem or digi network problem so lets just jump to conclusions.

iPhone ok? remember iPhone's "don't hold it this way" issue with the stupid antenna for iphone 4 problem? yeah iphone no problem.
