Just now went and check out the ram usage.

Around 350 ram is available for us to use. But thing is that 170+ was used up even though there wasn't any active applications in the background.

I used the browser to surf 3 websites[desktop version] and it ate 100mb+ already. So total ram available was already almost full

So what was the 170+ ram used up for?

SGW has 512MB RAM, once you boot up the phone, a RamDisk will be created and filled with critical OS files in the root folder (/). Leaving only 351MB for used.

Then, Android OS and other components will be loaded into the memory. This is what taking the 170MB RAM.

Browsers in desktop have been designed to use memory lavishly, on the other hand, Android app are more concern about memory. But need not worry if browser is taking too much RAM since all modern OS has Virtual memory concept. That mean, if not enough RAM, part of the storage can be used as RAM, but it will slow down tremendously of cause.

Do not worry if your RAM usage is high, that mean Android is caching your favourite App. Unused app will be suspended and if continue to be unused, will be map to a file if there is a new App require more RAM.

But you get Double Core, bigger screen, super amoled+(although someone said it doesn't look natural, who cares  ), super slim, MONYET Glass (somemore ppl drop tested can survive waist height with no crack, faced down), 1080p video recording, this this that that. You got the last point there, Double the Money

I use "could" coz some people might think I am too confident to say that.

But really, I was surprised, Arc-S was a bit smoother than SGSII. Both owners are my colleagues.
