I wonder can we generate some power from this hot water when we don't need it. To we need it. Electric.

My brother used his solar heater to generate power lighting to Attic room, 1st floor balcony and Staircase area.
And that was 20 years ago.

Am sure they have come out with a better idea. But never heard of anyone doing it anymore..

Hahahaha.

Well Solar Heater do have solar power return to the storage tank. 12V
As for now, need to see where the backup power go to.
From there you can tap out to supply direct to 12v LED.

But but solar heater don't content solar cell. It only have pipe and reflective bed or evacuate pipe.

So your brother is using solar panel to generate electric or solar heater?

Those solar water heater that everyone is using la. Those with solar panel.
Let me check with my electrician friend. If that can be done.

does anyone know if someone selling sollar that I can pay via installment?
*
You need to call up your Cardcenter for installment. Maybank and Citibank stand a better chance.

I am using Mircosolar for 3 years now.. So far no problem.
Only problem was the distance between the Solar and my MaterBathroom. Wasted lots of water before Hot Water kick in.

Taking of putting an extra storage tank (Just the Tank) between the solar and bathroom.
Will it work?

2nd Storage using 45 liter hot water storage tank.
With the mixture of hot and cold is still warm enough for shower.

Actually, how far does the hot pipe run to each bathroom and how many bathroom in total.
*
G Fl Kitchen (Seldom Use)
G Fl Bathroom, 1st Fl (Bathroom 1 & 2 )
Are aline with Solar heater above the Roof Slab (located at the back)

1st Fl main bathroom located in front (40 feet away from Solar Tank)

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Jul 19 2017, 01:34 PM)
if your home's hot pipe is 1" thick, Microsolar's manual does warn of accelerated thermal decay vs 0.5". For such situations, change the exposed section to 0.5" and insulate.
*
Using 12mm Poly pipe. I can do insulation on the pipe as it run on the ceiling.

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Jul 19 2017, 01:34 PM)
No don't mix with cold again.
*
Not mixing with incoming water. Just for recycle cold water back to main tank.

Idea is to cut short the hot water timing and water wastes.
And a 45 liter hot water storage tank sitting doing nothing.

Actually does newly built houses from developers come with two piping system (cold + hot)?
Some of new area now does provide hot water piping.

It's all depends on the developer.

safer get 300L, many solar claim better heating, temperature upto 90 degree bla bla bla, tested in bathroom it is impossible to get 90. So, they will say, no no cant measure in bathroom, we nd to measure directly in the solar, ok fine, but cant be solar 90 degree but comes down to bathroom only get 60 degree or 70 degree.

So, if a solar company claims they can do 90 degree celcius, hence u use less hot water, so u no need a big tank, ask them pls write black and white on the receipt, if cant achieve 90 degree demand full refund smile.gif

To share, i used both evaquated tubes and flat panel, both +- max heat, dont feel a big difference. What i can honestly tell u and accurately inform is that my flat panel aquasolar can achieve a max of 68 degree celcius, measure in my top floor bathroom (max hot) 68 degree is already smoking hot, if really a solar can go upto 90 degree in bathroom, u might accidentally get scalding, imagine pouring boiling water on yourself

Comfortable shower temperature ard 38 - 42 degree +- so with 68degree, mix cold water, u get a nice shower
Bigger Better as u STORE more HOT WATER, in case rainy season.

Installed Solar water heater 60lit 7 years ago,
Solar installed on the second floor roof at the back.
My master bathroom located on second floor 50 feet from the solar heater.
Did a test on the water temperature today.
Meter show 50.9c on 7pm 15 Jan 2021
