Not a big fan of aluminum as they scratch and damage too easily.
I would only be interested if they use at least 7075.

will anodized aluminium be the same as being easy to scratch and gotten damaged too easily? sorry for asking about this, because i don't have much knowledge on aluminium.

3.45 Euros is close to RM15. If you include about 1-2 Euros for handling(if there is any handling fee at all, since he should be pricing it so that he does not loose money), that should be the total cost of shipping.

It's considered cheap, to ship it from Germany. There has not been any official announcement yet, but I think he's gonna handle the distribution after all.
Maybe we should spam Spehrical awesome face keys.

Spherical keys have the same profile as the PANIC keys on pimpmykeyboard.com

Order code is
AWESOME

i just change my order into all spherical keycap set. not sure why, had a feeling that signature plastic spherical keycap are gonna be thicker than their normal one. since from what i know, my last organized group buy for PANIC and other key are Spherical profile, and man, they are THICK!

if the Spherical Keycap doubleshot from round4 is that, man this is pure PROFIT!

Just a caution, some of the keys will not be in the correct length.
Like the Enter key. To find out whether you can live with it, put backspace key on the enter switch, and the remaining spaces in between the keys will be the one coming out of the R4 spherical set based on the generated graphics.
*
well, i think that won't be a problem, my main concern would be this "will all the key fits? lol"

heya, guys, does anyone of you interested in Doubleshot Devlin Keycaps? I have just recently contacted Devlin and received replies from them.

we can manage our own group buy in here. i will organize one soon on Geekhack and deskthority.

Their Keycap are significantly better than Signature Plastic. but do beware that they will be much more expensive due to thicker keycap mold as well as better quality.
Pictures provided at below.

Devlin Q Series, they are Low Profile, available in Laser etch, Double Injection, and Blank.
Devlin QS Series, Stepped version of Qseries, Low profile, available in Laser etch, Double Injection, and Blank.
Attached Image

Devlin K Series, they are High Profile, available in Laser etch, Double Injection, and Blank.
Attached Image

Devlin J Series, they are Medium Profile, available in Laser etch, and Blank
Attached Image

if anyone of you interested in US ANSI Layout, and can be fitted on Filco, Ducky, or any keyboard that is using US ANSI Layout, please tell me. i'm planning a Standard kit keycap set (144 keys?).
Still in planning phase thou, will open a interest check(IC) thread in both geekhack and deskthority soon for checking interest.

The main part worries me now will be the bigger keys, like spacebar(will try ask them to make space bar mold that could be able to fit both filco and leopold, a universal space bar), Shift keys and modifier 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2x. not sure if they have the molding equipment for it thou.

i'm interested in their K Series, high profile double injection, damn sexy brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

i am interest with 144 key with Double shoot, Only need to know color and the Price only. Hope 144 key not = one new Keyboard is enough ><
*
well, i think it's nearly a new keyboard already, Signature Plastic Double shot are price range are 35~80 USD depending on MOQ of 25 set above.

i think Devlin might be the same, or even more expensive.
My expected price range are 40~90 USD on MOQ of 25 set above

QUOTE(rurushu @ Nov 28 2011, 01:43 PM)
OMG... the K series... the keycaps are sooooo thick.... can compare withe legendary Cherry Doubleshots....
Btw, the K series are spherical??? hmm.gif  hmm.gif

That universal thing, i thought KBC already had made those?? Their larger PBT keycaps, for example the spacebar, at the bottom, there are all the stem receiver at all the different distances, pretty neat already...  laugh.gif
*
they are thicker than Legendary Cherry Doubleshots... lol

Yeah, they are high profile spherical, since their keycap molding are old school type. but i think it's comfortable enough anyway.

For the Universal Spacebar, KBC already had those in PBT Keycaps, but wouldn't it be pain in the ass for ordering from both Devlin and KBC? plus color does not match too. IMSTO from KBC only offers White PBT Universal Spacebar for the moment.

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Nov 28 2011, 02:08 PM)
Keycaps profile from KBC do not match Devlin or Cherry Version.

Bear in mind, spacebar stem width for FC200R and FC300R/FC500R are different. KBC spacebar fits the FC200R, i.e. the Tenkeyless version
*
well, yeah, i'm aware of that, and that is why i didn't order FC200, they will be replace by FC700 replacement, i will post more picture about FC700 after i receive a working sample.

FC700 spacebar will be compatible with FC500.

So my plans for Devlin spacebar are design to fit on FC500 which will be compatible with FC700 in future.

ou, god thanks human10 for helping out fellow members here, my place was raining and thunder like crazy, main power jump off like 4 to 6 times, i straight go take a nap and don't want turn back on.

Finally the crazy weather stopped, and i'm online to check back the forum. biggrin.gif

Cherry MX Red is not bad for gaming and typing. it's just that, some player considers them too soft.
Just like Cherry MX Black, which people considers them too hard.

It's really depends on personal tatse. Leopold do support NKRO in PS/2. and 16+KRO in USB.

@human10 thanks alot for supporting new members here. biggrin.gif btw, i do use the keyboard to play alot emulation game with friends, 2 fella share 1 keyboard, NKRO is best, because my friend can't cheat to win me(he hold 3 key block my key input on membrane keyboard previously, cbcbcb)

Yay, Cyclone's here!

Can i have a personal opinion from you on Black and Red, instead of public's general opinion?

Edit: I am still choking on funds for now, but my gamer friend who's been watching my post so far is interested in getting a Leopold from you. LOL
*
My personal opinion? hmm..

I personally feel Black is better in SERIOUS GAMING, since they switch spring force is stronger than Red, when you press the key and release it, they literally follows your finger back up(minor force to push up your finger if you release key press and this makes you double tab or pressing a key repeatly is more easy). I do tends to use Black and enjoy it. The only problem i face for using Black is my finger tends to get tired very quickly with Black. Since the switch do requires higher force.
i can only tahan like non stop typing for 1~2 hours. then go watch tv rest a while. Gaming does not really affect me thou, playing game is like using stim-pack, you won't know you're tired, unless you're bored, then you tired.

For Red, I do enjoy them in a more casual way than Black. But when i first started to use red, i don't like it too much, because i've use ALPS switch for a long time, then Black, so my finger quite used to higher resistant switch.
When i first use red, feeling is weird because is like pressing tofu. But as time goes, the longer i used to it, the more i like it, typing are not as tired as black, and gaming is quite good too.

But do remember, each and every person, finger strength are not the same, some feel too soft, some feel too hard. Like my friend Kas, she's a girl, when she tried out Black, he hates it and say it's too hard, when i let her try Red, she likes it, and say "ngam ngam" *hokkien* perfect.

She then do this, lolololol. btw just a joke, don't take it seriously

Both Black and Red needs time to get used to it, because it's a Linear Switch.

For me, i try to get a hardware programmable keyboard as I am trying to learn new layout(COLEMAK).

Feel like to get a RAPOO V7 and mod them into cherry switch, not sure if possible.

For others out there, you can always use AutoHotKey to remap the layout as you desire.

don't laaa, let's team up together and make lowyat.net mech keyboard club keyboard. then we ROCKS!

Hm... so female will have a slightly hard time on Red, huh.

I was hoping for a new keyboard with programmable hardware macros, you know, those that isnt blocked on online games by gameguard/hotshields.

Oh well. its late, i'll figure it out next time, Thanks guys, especially Human and Cyclone XD
*
programmable? you will need to collect money and wait for China KBC group, they are planning something big on Macro features which uses Chameleon keyboard controllers which offers hardware based macro. which cannot be block by gameguard.

i waiting for that too. LOL

Best to try a featured mechanical numpad first?
*
this is not about profit, this is about Malaysian PRIDE! and Passion for Keyboard!!! Plus if we join the league faster than Geekhack.org, i will seriously LOLed

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Nov 29 2011, 02:07 AM)
Have you even tried a Tenkeyless/small keyboard and use it for long?
Not needing to reach as far as before, plus extra desk space, that's really nice.
Your Devlin keyboard don't count.
*
I would really prefer a Tenkeyless as well as a Numpad. My placing from left to right will be Tenkeyless Keyboard, Mouse, then the Numpad. prefer a table layout like that.

@kaiserreich, Thinking about using Chameleon keyboard Controller from KBC for lowyat.net keyboard, what do you think? i greedy for the function it offer and hardware based macro.

Added on November 29, 2011, 2:19 ambasically, i'm inspired by KMAC keyboard anyway, looking to do something like this, Acrylic is quite cheap in Malaysia. Plus i know where to source for Aluminium plate.

planning something similar to this casing.

Might find limited market for them.
Seems like we have not reach the stage where not many people are willing to spend a lot of money on keyboards/customizing. Either that or they are all lurking around.
As to the keyboard, the PCB and Controller is not a really big issue compared with finding a case for it. Btw, I'm a metal/opaque plastic kinda guy. Don't dig transparent acrylics as cases.  tongue.gif
Considering the amount of Group Buys currently occurring, plus a KMAC being available for purchase soon, I heard that it is after new yeras, together with those coveted springs, I don't have any appetite for more custom stuff.
