Will supercharging void the battery warranty?
*
It will, in fact it will void all warranties on the car. tongue.gif
FYI, the Rotrex Supercharger is a forced induction fitment for the puny 1.5L engine... nothing to do with the battery.

Anyway, i have placed a booking on a white CRZ, manual. Loved the car a lot, nice weekend car. Now I m worrying on after sales service for Honda, does anyone know where I can reliably service my new car? I booked my car via Kah Motors at Chan Sow Lin.
Thanks!

I thought crz no test drive available? i guess that what the other showrooms say, so you dont go buy from glenmarie..

sure ah honda glenmarie got text drive unit for crz? thx for the info bro..
*
Well, i tested the car there, before I placed a booking for my pearl white one. Anyway, i m not sure if it is an official test drive car or not, since the salesperson never requested any identification before passing the car keys. Another guy tested the same car after me on the same day.

Hoola! My CRZ has arrived at the showroom (March 15 shipment), and now awaiting registration etc... takes a few days to settle the paperwork, thought I could drive home on Sat, but unfortunately cannot. I didn't know that they have to send the car for Puspakom checks and wait for the AP.
Can't wait to drive...

bro, care to share the FC?
*
Hi, I don't have any FC reading unfortunately. Partly due to the fact that my car is quite new (inaccurate and hardly traveled), and also I didn't really monitor it.

er.....care to share the highest speed up until now? very interested to get this as second car biggrin.gif since i already have a sedan. the interior is so so cool.
*
biggrin.gif My car has not even reached 200k on the odo, so my top speed now is only 100kmh.

BTW any of your CRZ owner check how much your special tyre replacement like? I was told not available now due to the special size and hybrid type.

Can you guys get readily aftermarket rim so tyres option will be easier?
*
Yes, the size given on the 16" is indeed an odd sized tyre. Nothing to do with hybrid moniker though, just that Honda gave a unpopular tyre size.
Change to 17", just as long as you do not exceed 17"x 7.5 size rims, you should be fine. You can have a good low profile tyre selection, such as Michelin PS3 and Continental CSC5, using 205/45/R17 size. Surprisingly Honda Japan have an optional 17" rims available for the CRZ, but not available here in Malaysia.

er..seriously?...i thought on hi speed run it will use purely power from the engine?

how bad is it after battery went flat? 50% degradation of power?
Not as much as 50%, but you can immediately feel the loss of power, it losses the urge & acceleration. It will remind you that the petrol engine is a 1.5L puny...

QUOTE(MeToo @ Apr 23 2012, 03:59 PM)
Car launched less then 1 year and the battery went flat? Tall tale if you ask me  smile.gif
Need to clarify, it is the IMA battery pack, not the 12V battery.

QUOTE(amad108 @ Apr 23 2012, 06:16 PM)
so how long it take to flat out the battery ?
Doesn't take long, especially if you are on Sport mode, as it does not have much chance to recharge, while the electric motor is giving 100% of its power. A few long high-speed run will flatten the IMA battery, and ends your fun for a while...

looks like you are an owner. just curious, how's the FC so far? from what i gather people have been getting rm0.11-0.13/km. for me i think even the sportsmode is  more efficient then alot of the cars out there  smile.gif
Yes, I have one. I can't give the figures to you in RM/km, since I use RON97 (fluctuating price). I m averaging on 12.8km/L, much lower compared to KangYoon, as mine is still "running in" my car. I only have 700km on my ODO now. My lead foot doesn't help either biggrin.gif

QUOTE(squall_kay @ Apr 24 2012, 09:08 AM)
change it to KN will void warranty?
Any change to the combustion process of an engine can potentially void the warranty. However, if you get the drop in filter, u can swap it out before any warranty claims....

I didn't wait... depends on your love to your car...
The engine has already been revved to the max at the factory, and also at the port during delivery, probably during inspection, and also during the first 50km of its life by the salesman... brows.gif

PROPOSAL FOR AN OFFICIAL FORUM FOR OUR HONDA HYBRIDS.

[size=7]I do not have the knowledge to build an official forum.
I would like to suggest, whoever is capable to do this, I think is a good Idea to have an official forum for our honda hybrids to have a official forum. Insight, Jazz Hybrid, Civic Hybrid and CRZ. All in one official Forums. This is a good way to communicates, discussion, trouble shoots and ETC...
Suggestion:

www.hybrids-ima.com.my
www.hondahybrid.com.my

What do you think?
CRZ members already active inside the FB group, and have already registered a club officially. That is why you don't see a lot of postings in this page.

FC can vary from person to person. I have seen mileage from above 20km/L, to low of 9km/L when pushed hard (mine). I never bother to keep track of my mileage... it is roughly similar to a 1.5L petrol car. You'll need to associate "hybrid" loosely with the CRZ, the electric motor is normally used to propel the car faster (in my terms), and only to a small extent, save petrol. You'll save planet Earth by getting a Prius, not a CRZ unfortunately....
But chicks still dig my car... icon_rolleyes.gif

i got a feeling its gonna be much better than MT since shifting up or down will be at the most optimum level.

Btw CRZ CVT is 6 speed or 7 speed??
*
Technically there is no "speed" for CVT gearbox, the "speed" ranges are infinite. CVT gearbox work differently from conventional auto and manual gearboxes, and the speed that you see on the CRZ's CVT (paddle shifts etc) are just simulated gearbox change feel (similar with the previous gen Honda City). If you want full sports oriented CRZ, manual is the best, although it is known that CVT is more efficient and can be faster compared to manual CRZ.
Cheers...

Your friend must be bullshitting you. How can it be called a Hybrid hot hatch when there isn't an option for manual transmission. To be honest, CRZ comes best in manual transmission. Those auto / CVT transmissions aren't meant for pure sporty drive.

BTW, I would like to know what is the CRZ top speed (Manual variant)?
*
Honda Japan may still produce MT CRZ, but whether or not Honda Malaysia will be bringing it in will be a different story. But yes, manual is the way for sporty drive, not CVT.

As for the top speed, there has been pics taken at 227kmh... definitely not for the faint-hearted nod.gif

Haha.. didn't realise it was downhill. Anyway, there are tons of speed demons out there, some hit 230+kmh with the CRZ... but he had some exhaust and air filter mods...

I have never taken my CRZ to that speeds before, don't think I'll ever will... shakehead.gif

Only JDM cars have speed limiter, official export models don't have them.
