lol, luv your 'urban spirited drive', how can you archive 500km+ with 35l petrol? In city, i only can get 450km with 35l petrol, that's the best i can get for now..

17km/l, did u use cruise? I tried drive from Ipoh back to KL using cruise with 120km/h, only able to get 15.7km/l..

Please share~ master Sifu!
*
Harlo, is your car new (below 1000km)? My CRZ had that same problem, in fact the highest I can get was 12km/L, but that improved after i reach 2000km and above. I hit 18km/L when i drove back to Perak last weekend, so it takes a while to run in the engine before you can get better fuel consumption.

hey guys,

i'm in a dilemma between a mini cooper S 1.6(auto) JCW or the CRZ CVT. based on the horse power, the mini comes with about 200+bhp while the crz stock is 100+bhp only.

i was thinking of super charging it with the HKS kit BUT N1 told me that it is for MT only. anyone know if that is true? i really like the CRZ but... sigh~
*
Whoa... Mini Cooper S how to compare against CRZ? .... it is more than double the price of the CRZ. If i have the moolah, close one eye and go for the Mini. However, since I m living on a budget, I go for the CRZ.
My take is that supercharging the CRZ is considered a modification to the car, outside of its intended design, and we should not take it into account when comparing cars. Likewise, we cannot compare against a Wiralution also, it is faster and cheaper too... biggrin.gif

Though I don't mind Enkei RPF1

CE28N is gooding dude... rclxms.gif I m using one set on my CRZ, 18" X 8JJ
If you are using forged rims, the loss of power will be minimized due to the lightweight rims.

It won't be here so soon, launching end of Sept 2012. If your salesman have the car at hand already, discuss with him if you can postpone it and get the latest model. Bear in mind that there may be price hike, thus your loan approval will have to be cancelled. Just re-apply again later.
If you cannot wait for the car (example : me), just get it and enjoy it now.

hey there, anyone know if there's a tray to block others to see what is inside our boot? I see there's a place to put this tray, but it doesnt come with it, is it normal? or my SA forgotten to give me?
*
You should have a tonneau cover to cover the top of the bootspace. Note that the tonneau cover can be fully retracted and stored on the floor of the boot, there are 2 square holes at the sides, which can hold the tonneau cover just above the floor space. Do check if it is mounted there, if not then claim it from your salesperson.

I am using the Pivot Idle Stop Canceller on my CRZ, coz the auto stop is the most hated item inside my CRZ. Note that it requires cutting of wires going into the ECU, thus it is not for the faint-hearted or want to keep their warranty.

edit : Grammar....

Since we were on the topic of sounds from our CR-Z, I had a very unusual one just 1 hour ago.

I started my car and as I was reaching for my seatbelt, the car made a 'kunk' sound and jerked slightly. I checked and the car was still in P (mine is a CVT), handbrakes were on and I did not accidentally step on any of the pedals.

This is the second time it happened as I had a similar experience about 3 weeks ago. Almost same situation where I started the car and it made a sound and jerked. It felt like someone hit my car but there was nothing around. I thought I imagined the thing back then but with my experience today, I'm not so sure now. And my car is only less than 1 month old. Problem already start. Sigh....

Did any of you guys experience something like this?
*
I do get a loud thunk occasionally, when my steering is not straight and the car is somewhat moving slightly. It is from the front, which I assumed it was from the front lower arms or control arm. I think my 18" rims played a role in the sound too. I didn't check further though, so if you get answers from Honda, do let me know too.

how to disable the auto shut feature?

someone said to control the air con manually instead of auto will disable it but it didnt work.
*
All the tips I tried earlier never did work, in the end I decided to use the Pivot Idle Canceller.... but it is not for those who worry about their warranties, since Honda will throw it out of the window. blush.gif

Control the aircond manually and set the temperature to the LOWEST. Autostop will be disabled.
Just some questions guys.
1. Does the autostop makes the engine / battery life span lower since it gets activated many times especially when its during traffic jam. Is it recommended to really turn the autostop off?

2. Is it recommended to rev your car in order to charge the IMA battery? Based on my SA, he says that you only do that like few weeks once, not frequently

3. When try to rev the car in order to charge the IMA Battery, I would hear the rear will have some wind noise like there's aircond activated in order to cool down the IMA. Is it normal?

4. What is the average distance that you can get for full tank in a CR-Z especially those driving in the city?

Hope sifus here able to help on answering the questions. Thanks smile.gif
*
Let me try, although I m no expert.

0. Aircon too cold to me, I don't usually hit the lowest temperature settings, thus I decided to go for the Pivot Idle-Stop Canceller.
1. Probably not the battery, but engine and starter may have a slightly shorter lifespan. There is no real way to turn off the autostop except for the Pivot add-on, as the tips mentioned earlier gave me mixed results only. Thus nothing much a CRZ owner can do about it (while preserving the warranty), might as well live with it.
2. I don't do it freely, i.e. rev the car while it is stationary. If there are some power inside the IMA battery, you'll need to rev to 3k rpm and above before the battery gets charged. However, if the battery is totally flat, the car will auto-rev to about 1.5k rpm to charge it.
3. Yes, the battery ventilation fan. My experience, that there are 2 fan speeds, the normal and high power mode. On normal mode, it sounds like a PC fan whine.... but it can get to a massive drone if you really whack the CRZ, and that the battery overheats... Sometimes if I park my car under the hot sun, the high fan will also kick in, making a huge fuss at the back.
4. It ranges, usually on my lead weighted right foot, about 400km...

Hope this helps.....

Why ar?

Enough air already. Note that you are taking pic of the front tyres, where all the weight of the engine and transmission is bearing down upon the front tyres. You will not get a perfect round shape, coz if you do, then your tyres are overinflated already. Note that it is not about the looks, but the actual pressure in the tyres. If you are worried, get a tyre pressure gauge (all car owners should have at least one).
It also depends what type of tyres you use. If you are using soft-walled tyres, then the "squished" look will be quite pronounced. If you are still worried, get UHP tyres, you will not get those "squished" look on the side-walls as the side walls are stronger. But of course, it will contribute to a really bumpy ride.
Hope this helps...

To add to the above ^
You will also need to rip off the center console (where the handbrake lever is) and some parts of the bottom center dashboard to mount the center arm rest.

Ori arm rest from honda cost in excess of RM1K as mentioned by ExCrIpT, but I did find a place in SG that sells cheaper CRZ arm rest, although i do not know how is the quality of the arm rest nor how to install it yet.

Hi all, does the crz resale value that bad?
And how much does the battery itself cost?

Anyone share some light pls....
Im keen on taking this car..
*
It will be bad, unfortunately. The car depreciates a lot, mainly due to hybrid drivetrain, and 2 doors (somehow Malaysian used car market does not favour 2 door cars). If anyone says that the resale value is good for the CRZ, they are smoking something which they ought not to....
As for the battery price, no one knows for sure and I don't think Honda Malaysia knows the exact price too, since no one have changed it before.
Good luck!

insight and jazz sharing same battery model, i not sure crz sharing the same kind?
if insight battery is only RM6k, which i think it is affordable, someone said crz using diff model, perhaps RM12k...

if thisis the case , it may deter me away from this crz...
so, anyone know?
*
Sales person may claim the battery cost will be such and such... i have heard different amounts throughout my ownership of the car and till today, no one have been able to confirm the exact amount (still waiting for the day that someone shows me a receipt that they have changed the battery). Regardless if it shares the same battery with insight or not, Honda will charge an arm and a leg if it is meant for CRZ (since it is a specialty car), not to mention importing the battery takes a really long time (it is not something that breaks often e.g windscreen or bumper, and it comes all the way from Japan). Oh yea, your normal mechanic under the tree probably will not be able to handle this job too.

If you are worried about the car's depreciation (coupe + hybrid moniker makes 2nd hand value drop like a stone) and it being a hybrid (battery question above), then i would suggest that you get a car that you are more comfortable with. I believe we should be masters of the car, and not to be a slave to it, thus if having a CRZ makes you worry day and night, I would suggest that you get something which would not be a burden onto yourself.
With this, I bid you good luck in your search...

im wondersing what make insight maintenance price way higher than crz..

tongue.gif
biggrin.gif I think I know where you are coming from now.... and i have a hunch that this is your first car? tongue.gif
I guess you have compared the maintenance prices for both the Insight and the CRZ from the Honda website, and it has shown the maintenance cost for Insight to be more expensive than the CRZ.
Not sure why Honda placed such pricing on their website, but logic & experience tells me that CRZ will have slightly higher maintenance cost than the Insight. Just my 2 cents... I would advise that you take that maintenance cost with a pinch of salt.
Cheers..

I have removed all of the protective palstic in the car except those on the door handle (inside) the plastic came off but all the glue residue sticks to the handle. Look very bad.

Anyone face this? Can we claim replacement part for this?
*
Get some lighter fluid, or alcohol and pour onto a paper towel. Wipe the shiny part with the paper towel to remove glue, you may need to use more fluid to melt the glue. Use another part of the paper towel if it gets dirty....
Do not use autosol or any harsh corrosive liquid, as that part is a plastic part, not metal.
Good luck!
p/s : All CRZ have this problem, even mine when I received it early of the year. Just wipe it down, and it will be as good as new.

Hahaha... well, partially I would say, as the other pre-requisite is that it has to be a Jap car tongue.gif
But the looks play substantial part.... thumbup.gif

Anyway, when we recieve our Zet, there is no alarm code given with the keys right? Just 2 sets of keys and a tag (probably Car Id in the shipment)
Yes that is correct.

QUOTE(HanSolo @ Jan 9 2013, 02:46 PM)
Lastly, when we arm the alarm, is it normal to have 2 blinking lights? one below near the ignition key and one in the meter cluster (left side)...
Yes that is correct as well.
