Definitely agree. I have the same problem when reversing from diagonal parking (those / / / parking) in my Celica. I'd expect facing the same in the CR-Z (which I am trading my Celica for). Just have to slowly inch out and cross your fingers! I guess the best way to solve this would be installing 180 degrees rear view cameras.

As for blind spots, I think all other types of cars have the same problem. Only thing in the CR-Z (just like Celica) would be that your interior rear-view mirror cannot see the blind spots (even if you have those extra wide ones) due to the C-pillars. Just have to rely on side mirrors. For my driving style, I tend to use a small blind sport mirror (on the side mirrors) plus do a quick turn of the head.
