did you overclock? This game is the most demanding game i ever play - it will stress your computer like hell. I need to downclock my 4Ghz OC to 3.4Ghz, DDR3 1600Mhz to 1,200Mhz and GTX570 down a bit to avoid game not responding/crash. Haven't got time to really troubleshoot whether it is CPU or RAM or GPU that coz the crash, so i just downclock all just to play. Will relook this issue again during weekend.

yes, some unrelated program will cause the game to crash. The weirdest one i heard is Microsoft Office!! Some reported the game crash fixed after they uninstalled MS Office.
