the sound is normal, because the flash head has zoom mechanism inside (the sound from it) 'nggeeeekkkk' like sound, u press the 'zoom' button, u get similar sound.

the design and people may skeptic with it, but for almost 4 years using my flash for over 30 wedding(running up and down) and countless event, the flash and camera body still holding, so, no, it wont break that easily. when you read somewhere, make sure its a "claim by over 50 people", else, that fellow just unlucky to break his hotshoe.

A77 is very cheap for that pricing.
*
thank you boss... yup the "nggeeeekk2 sound"... thought something "sangkut" like my wira door lock..

just remember.. the hot shoe issue was bring up somewhere in DP Review when f43am were announce...

i did check around..a77+kit is quite cheap..check at ebay..hong kong seller sell kit lens only around 2.5k.

HOPE NO BODY GO N GAGAU ALL THE STOCK AT LAM LOONG...

few times shop at lam loong ... 1 thing i notice.. you can get good price for body but not the lens... if lens better order at elite pro..

alphazal : If you feel that the flash seem a little loose when mounted on the hotshoe, that is normal. Most would find that the flash has a little free play when mounted. This is opposed to other brands where the flash is mounted by screwing it onto the hotshoe. With Alphas you get a quick release latch system that enables you to quickly take your flash off.

Even on my A850 you can feel the flash move a little bit when you push it from side to side but it's ok. As long as your contact points are clean, the flash will fire.
*
shootkk :thanks, that exactly what i mean... it did move "a bit".. now i'm still got to learn a lot about this cobra...

adding this cobra to my a580+24-105+grip feel much steady when taking shot... thumbup.gif

Need opinion... this is my 1st time using speedlite ( using f58).

i don't know if this is over expose or not. bounce it to ceiling.

exif:

iso-800
70mm
f5.6
1/160

1- what is the combination when shooting indoor or out door?

2- why the shutter can go 1/160? manual mode..?using a580

thank you

Not over exposed...

If you're new to using flash, set it to pre-TTL or ADI and you're pretty much good to go.

1/160s is the camera's default flash sync speed. You can change the shutter speed value when you use shutter-priority or full manual. Any shutter speed higher than that will only be able to be synced via HSS on the flash - activated only when the flash head is pointed forwards.
*
that mean when using high shutter speed we can't bounce right?

Want a cost effective, sharp and compact little 85m prime? Look no further than the 85mm f2.8 SAM!! Great performance for its price point!! And it's a FF lens!!!

A few shots with the 85mm:

GUYS... HELP ME TO CHOOSE!!! to be "married" with a77 and a580

TAMRON 70-200MM F2.8 , SIGMA 70-200MM F2.8 AND SONY 70-300MM G?

mostly will be used in wedding and day outing/even.

at this moment i'm seriously looking at sony 70-300mm G due to the IQ, sharpness and AF Speed.

will seldom use in low light. ( 16-50mm n 50mm 1.8 ) should be enough for low light situation + just got my f58).

Hopefully i can get as much info as i can ( pro/cons) about this 3 lenses before this 17-11-2011 ( D DAY )

Thank you

Sell off the 580, go 77 and get a Sony 70-200G..

Settled.

If got more budget, get a decent prime then....

Sell off a580?... then i will always " gaduh2" with my wife la... i'm buying a 77 because she always "kacau2"... if i'm shooting she also want to shoot.......... rclxub.gif vmad.gif

Get her a Nex enough la -,-

Your own grave you are digging, kenot stop you lol.

Have fun, good luck.
Err, Problem is, comparing 3 lens at 2 diff range, one has longer reach and another not constant aperture....

For me, Sony 70-200G's the way to go, since I owned one briefly and tested it..

Rather than Tamron/Sigma due to the fact that someday you will indeed go up to the 70-200G lol~"

And the 70-300G is a good tele lens, sadly, it does not have constant aperture, if not, would've grabbed it too tongue.gif

Nex - she don't like biggrin.gif

sony 70-200G's is way out of my budget cry.gif

according to my knowledge:

Tammy
Pros: cheap, sharp, constant aperature
Cons: big, tamron build quality, ugly doh.gif
note: screw drive in A77/A65 is relatively fast and silent! so don't mind about focusing

Sigma
Pros: silent AF, constant aperature, (smaller than tamron)
Cons: Sigma build quality, unreliable sigma AF (everyone knows), CF
i recommend the non-hsm version since A77's screw drive really quite fast!  thumbup.gif

Sony 70-300 G
Pros: longer reach, SSM, Sharp, smallest among the 3, cheapest among 3!, Looks damn nice!  thumbup.gif
Cons: smaller and not constant aperature( but you've got F58), quite slow focus in longer focal length
*
first of all she like to shoot for long distance subject. hate the short 18-55mm fl rclxub.gif

yup agreed with u NutZ748. i found 2 popular problem with this tammy/sigma.

1- sigma -
GOOD AF But IQ lost to tammy
and " hansem Lens".

2- Tammy
GOOD IQ but slow AF
and yup not so "hansem' and also heavy -

is not that i can't go with cheaper option like tammy/sony 70/75-300mm but i don't want to end up buying another telephoto lens. for me the most important thing is IQ.. AND sony 70-300g seem to have better control on color fringing which is i'm very2 particular about this part. really hate to see the purple/blue color.

not so worry about f2.8 ( blur n speed). biggrin.gif

I am a strong supporter of the 70200G and I don't think i'll get anything other than the 70200G itself haha smile.gif

I used to have the Sigma 70-200 F2.8 HSM II. But I sold it off after a while because I was never satisfied with the IQ 100%. I knew eventually it would be the Sony 70-200G.... but I just had to keep on saving & saving until I bought it recently. There is nothing wrong with the Sigma. It is great. Just that, the Sony is even better.  sweat.gif

A recent photo from the Sony Alpha Wildlife Challenge. Shot using the SAL70200G SSM, at wide open F2.8 & ISO1600 using the A850! Noise? What noise? tongue.gif

i realized anyone who gets A580 are very happy.
and A580 is very huge in demand.
no one wants to sell theirs.
Since it's discontinued from market. the price went up.
but the price between A580 and A66 is very close.
which one u guys would choose? let's leave the SLT and SLR comparison. whistling.gif

you got that right.... i'm one of the proud a580 owner.. rclxms.gif

Worth is not the word...
they robbing u blind...  rclxub.gif

firstly the adapter decreases image quality, without adapter a normal close up is better, but a true macro lens is the best & sharpest. a Ultra wide angle is about less than rm2k , a macro lens about less than rm1.5k (depends on focal)...
but if u still wanna buy a macro adapter, try look for Raynox 250..  nod.gif
*
yups.. i always kene.. when u asked about macro closed up/filter, they will start promoting this thing.."they said..wa this can go UWA you know..can safe money..". not worth it... if you really want to buy..go ebay.. so cheap compared to our price... here they will "katok" u kaw...

Nepmatic gurney plaza last week try to cheat me.. they open the price at RM899.00 ( keep on saying made in japan) after i want to walk away they suddently reduce the price for RM599.00......... Gila... HOW TO BUSINESS.. if you can simply drop the price? so there must something going on... brows.gif so i just walk away...
