I just bought an A580 for my interest in photography.
Got myself a kit lens 1855. Didn't like the capabilities from this lens at all and the design is making me speechless.
Planning to sell off my kit lens and go for lens from Minolta.
My budget is very tight nowadays and not planning to go over RM300+.

Few lens I'm going to get first :
1. Minolta F4 35-70mm (mini beercan)
2. Minolta F1.7 50mm (prime)
3. ---
4. ---
5. ---

I do feel that every photographer must have a telephoto lens and a prime lens.
if you think that any lens that can improve the IQ and might cause a bit more, Please do advise.
Also, I don't mind other third party lens from tamron, sigma and etc. Most probably prefer second hand.

P/s : why userbar for A580 doesn't exist??

for a better lens - but more expensive la of course kan... takkan shoot even ( main photog) pakai kit lens...mengamuk la customer..klu kit lens maybe anak sedara dia pun ada. ...at least 17-50 tammy ker.... but most important thing is IQ........ this is also is about your business credibility, 1855mm is a good kit lens...but 17-50mm is a great lens for event . i'm maybe looking at 17-50 tammy or 16-50 sony..just wait until 16-50 come to malaysia n then i decide..see how much is the price.

another reason selling some of my lenses is because i need to "re-organize" my lens line up..currently i got

18-55mm
24-105mm
55-200mm
50mm f1.4

future line up will be

17-50 or 16-50
minolta 100-200mm f4.5 ( won an ebay auction - coming from us this week )- great lens 
50mm f1.4
or maybr keep the 24-105mm
and king of macro --- RAYNOX 250
but all this depends on you interest..if want to make money...need to invest more... if just a hobby..then u got option..

i agreed wit u ... but your are lucky that u haven't been into that situation.. i did .. i was helping covering an event.. gomen dinner at hotel in png for my friends.....  i was approach by one of the organiser.... asking me why i'm using kit lens..this is a paid job.. actually i just arrived and 1855mm is  oledy attached to my dslr as i planned to get more wide angle shot before attaching 24105mm...i explained to him that i'm not the main photographer... i'm just the 3rd shooter and the 1st and 2nd photog are at the VVIP area (MINISTER+KETUA2 PENGARAH)... AND they are using much more better lenses (CZ & L lens).

He said... " to cover an event like this..you need better lens and other more professional gear...not just some kit lens.." he also said that they have paid a quite high price to photographer to cover the whole event........

i told him that my gear are more than enough as my position tonight is more to " candid" rather than " bergambar bersama menteri".......

i got fed up with his attitude and attached my 24105mm + Battery grip+f58+softbox  and asked him..it this " look " professional enough? he then smiles and said.." WELL ..THIS SHOULD BE ENOUGH... AT LEAST OTHERS KNOW THAT WE HIRE A PRO RATHER THAN JUST SOME PHOTOG".....then he walk away.........
Really spoiled my mood...

well one thing that learn from this incident is... not all will judge u by looking at the results...they just simply say NO.....  

and fact is " i'm not a pro  "

Wedding event - only pengantin can complain cause they are the one who paid u
BIG event like Fussy Gomen Dinner  500-700 pax - usually will be organize by comittee members..maybe gred 27-40... but they will be monitor  by Ketua Unit..and ketua Unit will be reporting to TP1 n TP2..and so on to the PEGARAH... If let say pengarah received complain..than die la...all mesti kene "kan"...So every body will try not to kene... so just imagine how many person that we have to be " JAGA HATI".....

You guys make me giggle while waiting for red light. Hahaha...
