Basically all the answers that you seeked has been posted here. Just need to sort out the truth from the myth.

Truth:
-------
Mensus pain will never go away until you delivered your baby either through spontaneous vaginal delivery or c-section. It's not the delivery itself but rather stretching of the uterus during pregnancy which disrupts the nerve endings, making your uterus 'numb' to cramping sensation. No everyone will get mensus pain. Some will have severe pain, some have little pain.

Myth:
------
Mensus pain will not go way with time or age. As long as someone never pregnant before till term (pregnant and abort doesn't count), the pain will come with every mensus cycles.

Truth:
-------
Medications such as Panadol, Ponstan, Voltaren and all sorts of NSAIDs will help. Don't wait till pain become severe then only take the pills. If you know you'll have mensus pain, no point waiting for it to become worst before taking the pills. The medicine will not harm your fertility. Panadol is the safest, can be taken even when you're having gastritis. NSAIDs such as Ponstan/Voltaren are powerful, have tendency to cause gastritis and should be avoided if you're having gastritis or have history of frequent gastritis. Those with asthma, heart and kidney problem must avoid NSAIDs.

Myth:
------
There is no truth to the myth that all the medications above cause bloating/numbness. Bloatedness and numbness are caused by the water retention during mensus. Just prior to mensus, your body will swells up with water. You'll find your clothing/socks are tighter than usual. Your body weight may increase 1-2kg. Your mood become foul, hence your BF/hubby became a shooting target. Once period comes (bleeding), your body will starts to loose the excess water, hence you'll go to toilet more often and the swelling reduces. Mood also improves. It has nothing to do with the medicine. Supplements such as EPO, spirulina may work in some women but for majority of the women, they are simply as waste of money.

No offense taken. My statements are generals statements which apply to most of the population but not all. In medical field, nothing is absolute 100%. I'm talking about mensus pain which are due to mensus itself. Of course, those who experience mensus pain with irregular bleeding (too much or too little), not relieved after pregnancy should try to have a proper medical checkup. There are many other conditions which cause mensus pain, one of them is uterine fibroid. Sometimes, there is nothing wrong with the uterus itself, just that the nerve has fully grown back after pregnancy which it will but for many, the number of nerve that grew back were less than before pregnancy, hence reduced/absent of mensus pain after that.

Jamu or supplements may work for some people which I've already mentioned. Some of these supplements contain phytoestrogen (estrogen derived from plants) which may help but must be present in sufficient quantities for it to work. Do take precautions with unregistered jamu/chinese herbs because sometimes they contain harmful steroids. Steroids makes you feel good/well but if taken long term will have irreversible harmful effects. However, I admit I have no idea about this Jamu Ratu Dara (JRD) though.

LOL! Not easily offended especially when it's a serious and genuine discussion laugh.gif

However, I'm not too keen on supplements because they are way too expensive and some of them have questionable benefits. I'm just glad they work for you. There's no harm trying though. For those who doesn't feel the effects after 1-2 months of taking them, by all mean stop wasting your money.
