johor is quite safe, overall. dont just talk about jb; desaru, mersing great holiday destinations, oso johor. those place IINM are very safe. petty crimes often happens, normal la, but big crimes nowadays are less and less. singaporeans tok kok about jb crime rates, but later everyday come here buy groceries, go for holidays and some buy land and houses too.

i live in jb, and to me, the crime rate here is about the same, if not less than probably kl and penang. as long as there is money moving and to be made, there will always be people trying to skip to the short part and do crime for it.
