Telco definitely be lower. but Malaysia telco subsidy not much. I can foresee that this will force the Telco to subsidize more.

Finally Apple Store MY selling Unlocked iPhone 4 (RM1799) and iPhone 3GS (RM1199) both only in 8GB. The problem is how's the warranty? send to where..

warranty u will consult AppleCare... AppleCare English support will divert u accordingly.

how long u plan to keep one app/game in your iphone?

with all system file for 8GB, i think only 5GB++ can use for apps ..

the problem with 8GB is that the iphone takes a huge image files. 1-3mb each, and large video files. plus your music collection, some videos and some games. gone.

i think this is even worst with ip4s, because 8mp pics and 1080p vid sure damn huge.

I would not recommend getting 8GB as it is too small.

Minimum to get is 16GB.

8GB is seriously really too little.

Such a hassle to juggle apps ..
TOday install this one... tomorrow remove that one..
After that install this one i need to use the next day
I thinkf ollowing day I dun need this app anymore.. remove la.

This model is perfect for those migrating from outdated Symbian phones and only need simple smart phone features. For RM 1.8k, I might as well buy an used iPhone 4 16GB instead. Never mind used but as long good condition, who cares?

8GB can fit in a few low res movies, and games like Angry Bird.

But, then...can get similar capability to play those at half the price with other phones.

Once you buy iphone you surely wanna take advantage of the awesome screen and rock the world with High res movies and HD games....but with 8GB...too little storage space to do that...

For me 8gb is enuff as i play game using my ipad 2 32 gb in my Iphone just install game like street fighter volt, angry bird , real racing 2, pvz, birzzle, phoenix hd,fruit ninja and some other apps like papago, fb etc and some music... And still have 4 gb left lol....

In September last year, the iPhone 3GS 8GB version was offered in Malaysia 24 days before the iPhone 4 was launched by both Maxis and DiGi.

i think the 8gb capacity is fine. depends on your usage. if you have another portable device: iPad, netbook den it shud b fine. but if you rely solely on your phone when you're out and about, better get something that has a larger storage space.

but the price tag of 1799 still kinda ex. think can get the 16gb one on garagesale if you look around.

they price tag is seriously unsttractive..if in the range of RM1599, then that would be more reasonable..the capacity is half of the 16g version and the price is not reli lesser by a lot at all...

for me 8gb enough... i don load video inside iphone cause the screen is so small.. compare eith my tab... and the way it trandfer files pull me off also... i only didn isntall Street fighter and all angry birf series and some book...but i rarely play games ... mainly use for social network only and taking picture and video using the phone camera... so 8gb still consider plenty space for me..

thinking of selling off my aip4 and wait for new model ...

this is actually a great news. I could save some bucks to buy something else

1799 is around USD590 bucks ... that is cheap. Apple Store US is selling it for USD549 before sales tax (which will be USD600 after sales tax of 9%), so this price really WOW. Can buy my baby sister her dream phone now.

I would imagine that the iPhone 4s will be around the US price as well which would make it it the cheapest in the world because we do not have sales tax.

I was calculating Singapore prices and they are already 17% above US prices with the sales tax .....

Just got myself a ip4 8gb at Thailand. THB18500, deduct another 7% vat at airport.

They will in future as Apple dont release iPhone 4 16GB and 32GB anymore.
This will happen once iPhone 4S introduced here.

8GB is seriously not enough. Because im using a non JB iphone 4 with ios 5. current used 3.8gb available 9.9GB

for 8gb is little for some user and a lot for some other user also..depend on each person usage..macbook air has 64gb only but still sell like hotcake..so depend on user . now we have our icloud to store some files in also.

so u feel like owing ur 1st iphone rm1799 is a good buy.

It should be since all Iphones stated in their warranty is international I guess , I remember reading it somewhere and somebody quoted it in lowyat also. But provided that country must have an Apple store that sells the phone outright. So I guess its finally valid for Malaysia? Can anybody confirm this? I'm tempted to get an iphone 4s Over here as its only like 2k plus abit for 16gb =) after converting =)

no it's still not international warranty. Malaysia has no Apple Stores (Physical/brick & mortar), only Resellers. the closest one is in Hong Kong. Your link basically points to the place where you'd have to go if the iPhone you bought from the online store has problems.

The iPhone 4 8GB will be the cheap version option for people. But so surprised to see it sold online.

Hopefully they would just bypass the telcos and put every model online. That'll crop the telcos a bit.

i have iphone 3gs bougt from Maxis with two year contract which the contract and warranty expired last month. My phone get reset several times with apple logo suddenly and cannot make incoming/outgoing calls. This has happen almost twice and i took it to Maxis center. They check and say it is perfect and nothing wrong with the set. But the phone again go to resetting today again after three days of my visit.
The customer care guy say that if i have same problem again, he can exchange me with new phone at a cost of rm 500. Is it worth exchanging the phone for 500 ringgit?, ( anyway it is already two years old phone and not JB)
what is the market price for 3gs 32gb model now? If they exchange me, is it new phone or any refurbished phone? how abt warranty for the phone? ( Is it not cover 2 years warranty considered it is a new phone as claim by maxis for replacement)

anybody have taken such exchange ? pls share

If really just have to pay another rm500 for ip3gs 32GB i think is worth, but they not gonna to give u the new set. It will be a refurbished set.

On top of it, it happens occassionaly and most of the time it behave ok. is it anything to do with ios 5? I never encountered this problem in last two years and just started after updating to ios 5

I will suggest u to restore the phone and check is that the problem still there or not ?? At the moment I think is the ios5 problem. But soon, ios5.01 will launch, maybe apple have solution for you...
