QUOTE(drexar @ Feb 14 2012, 06:54 PM) Woot do create a review on Lumia 710. I might want to buy it too Here's my brief review after 2 days of using it:I will only stated the cons, as others is GREAT/AWESOME/whatever you call it! 1. The proximity sensor problem, it doesn't work well as it should be, the screen needs to be adjusted perfectly when you're talking in order for the proximity sensor to work, you can try use white themes, then while you're talking see yourself in the mirror holding the phone, you'll find sometimes your phone screen will not turn off as it should be while you're talking. I think this is hardware problem. 2. Sometimes (yes, sometimes) you'll find the screen flicker when you're scrolling/touching the screen. Noticeable when you're using white background. But this only happens certain times. I'm not sure whether hardware problem or software, i have read on the net, some said having this problem as well. 3. The battery life is not as good as others. Maybe because its just using 1300mAh battery. My test it only last about a day (25hrs), this is without 3G on. That's the only letdown that i have with this phone so far. Other than that, awesome! Camera can consider as okay for a 5MP shooter, HD video recording is awesome, call quality is superb as what you can expected from nokia. Internet browsing is super smooth, screen rotation super smooth, everything is smooth because it's a windows phone. haha! this is why i left android. Single core can do a great job unlike android needs a dual core to be smooth. This post has been edited by zuhaili87: Feb 14 2012, 08:15 PM |

QUOTE(hengguowei @ Feb 18 2012, 10:11 AM) hehe yeap! just a basic usage, call, frequent sms, sometimes using wifi to download apps. this is only on Edge network, no 3G. because at my place i can get high signal when using edge, but low signal when using 3G. QUOTE(msh8h @ Feb 18 2012, 12:24 PM) 1. For those who has bought Lumia 710, can i ask is the back cover (interchangeable) available with the set? What color? . . . . .or is it just black and white ONLY.. (i.e. other colors have to buy yourself?) YES, for now u'll only get the white/black back cover only. The retailer said the exchangeable colors is not available yet on the day that i bought, i think this week will be available already. 2. Does anyone buy this phone with package? (Celcom/Maxis?) p/s: __________ 1. I live in Kuantan. Here they sell black n white color ONLY (and don't have any clue about 'colored' Lumia) 2. I found Celcom and Maxis package for Lumia at their official website... but seems like Maxis and Celcom here have no clue (some of them was like "Huh? Lumia?" |

QUOTE(si hebat @ Feb 23 2012, 08:55 PM) Wondering if Nokia Lumia 710 can upgrade SD card slot like HTC Mozart. I thought 8gb is small even i never maxed out my old Nokia X6 8 gb. I like the smoothness WP7 offers unlike android. Well, i might be getting this phone. Does anyone here switched from Android to WP7 and what's the major differences that u had with Android and not with this? me! i go from low end to high end android, the big major differences is of course the apps. amount of apps comparison is a lots, and bear in mind, almost all things is NOT FREE on WP7. That's a major setback. Even a simple game like angry bird need to buy, on android at least it's free but with ads, i can live with that as long as its free. And one more thing is the limitation of WP7, everything need to sync here and there, always need to reset phone in order to adjust some important settings like region etc, but i totally understand since WP7 is still young. Really hope the OS will get better. You'll love the smoothness, the simplicity, everything that u ever wish for in a phone. WP7 is really simple and easy to use unlike android full of customization, good for modders. |

QUOTE(si hebat @ Feb 24 2012, 02:24 AM) Thanks for the explanation. I watched a lot about WP7 review and fell in love about the UI, simplicity and all. One questions playing in my mind is 'will i have regret buying WP7 phone?'. Actually, I don't mind about the apps numbers offered (well, maybe i'm wrong), I just care about the daily task that I'll do day by day. Do you all experience some basic / day by day stuff that don't work with WP7? I don't know how to put it by ' basic/day by day stuff' but I hope You'll understand what i mean. Yup, day by day stuff is easier on WP7, everything is much simpler, notes, messaging, social integration, office stuff, etc, everything is simple and perfect. Web browser on WP7 is also smooth. Everything in WP7 is straight forward, no extra setting required to run apps perfectly. It's just like plug and play. Thanks If you don't mind about the apps then WP7 is certainly good for you, the only thing that made me regret is of course the apps issue. Hoping for more free stuff on the marketplace in the near future. Everything else is just perfect, easy to use, simple and perfect. Oh, and 1 more thing about WP7, i think you'll never experience software issue, like restart issue, hang, etc, the OS is so young but its so stable. I wonder why android can't pull like this. |

QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Feb 24 2012, 10:38 AM) Ask yourself, how many apps do you actually use on a fairly regular basis? I find I can count mine on one hand. So half a million apps is meaningless to me. This is true, the thing that is bothering me is not how much apps it would be, but everything need to be pay on windows marketplace. And the price is much higher than android or even IOS. Yes, even if we don't use apps occasionally, but i do fill my spare times playing games on my phones, and one of basic example is games on marketplace, everything $2.99 above, fukken expensive where else on android or IOS is FREE. Oh im not talking about high end games here, just a simple casual games is more than enough to be a good example. So that's where half a million apps comes in handy, when you got a lot of choices, for sure the price will be lower or FREE, you know, where demands get lower, the price goes low as well. If only the apps price is not ridiculously expensive, then WP7 is perfect. But like i said, as long as demands high, price will be high as well. |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Feb 24 2012, 05:50 PM) That simply means windows phone is not suitable for you. I mostly fill my time chatting on Facebook, msn, texting on my wp7 I even bough some app aka carbon and fruit ninja. If u calculate back it cost like only rm6 when u can afford phones rm999 and above wats rm6? The depreciating value of your phone in the next few months will be even more than the value of the apps u buy. Next is wp7 is new in Malaysia it still take time to tweak and adjust to suit our country. Haha, even if you bought a $1M house, doesn't mean you want to buy a ferrari right? Furthermore if the ferrari is given FREE in certain places (OS). No matter how you boast about iOS and android u still can't get wp7 experience out of the box. I know, that's why i said i totally understand because WP7 is a young fresh OS but smooth as butter. This post has been edited by zuhaili87: Feb 24 2012, 06:51 PM |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Feb 24 2012, 07:32 PM) yup, kind of impressive and its easy to fix if the photo is dark, just pick the auto-fix on WP7. I love that function. QUOTE(evilpuppy @ Feb 24 2012, 08:46 PM) Nice, what phone is he holding? looks like HTC windows phone. is it titan? |

QUOTE(vincent_on9 @ Mar 1 2012, 10:21 PM) because the hardware keys, i'm not comfortable with it, i'm more comfortable with capacitive keys, planning to upgrade to lumia 800, but i have read review somehow it's not as smooth as lumia 710, the screen rotation on lumia 710 is by far the fastest on WP7.5, so i might wait for something else. |

QUOTE(marauderz @ Mar 5 2012, 11:37 PM) That's not lag, that just means the 710 is querying the accelerometer value more than any other phone. The tradeoff would be... more power consumption. But then again, we're not sure how the sensor is setup. maybe there's a simpler switch in the 710 then. did i say lag? sorry if i say lumia 800 lag. no no it doesn't lag. its smooth. super smooth. But seriously.. if you use this to say that the 710 is faster... that's not exactly right. |
