Nokia phones will also get free games from EA on top of the maps and music apps. So that's some nice value added there too.

Sadly in Malaysia, there's no App marketplace here. A lot of Microsoft's other services for WP7 aren't available here either. I guess it's no surprise that it isn't very popular in Malaysia even though it's such a good OS.

It's the design of the android Os that requires it to need such a powerful processor to match the fluidity of IOS and wp7. You'll never notice any stutter on wp7 and ios no matter how busy the processor is. This is why ms never bothered to support dual core because wp7 really doesn't need it yet

I thought that the win phone os was ugly at first, but after a while you'll find that it's so functional that all the customisations are just unnecessary distractions. You can however customise more if you jailbreak or unlock the phone. I've never found a file manager necessary on my phone, just the same as i never needed a file manager on my ipad either.

With Maxis supporting Windows Phone Marketplace, customers can now purchase from over 60,000 apps and will be charged via the Maxis phone bill.

Support Marketplace but don't support the OS itself?

I think Maxis (and all the other carriers) should seriously create web versions of their VSC/USM/Star code thingy, since *100# completely doesn't work on WinPho. (and won't work on iPad too since you can't dial)

QUOTE
The official retail price of the Nokia Lumia 800 is RM1650 and the Nokia Lumia 710 is priced at RM999. Please ignore the estimated pricing that we revealed previously.

RM1650 does seem like a very competitive price. The old estimate was definitely too high, because if they ever introduce the Lumia 900, it would have to be priced well above that of the iPhone.

Not as good as a free xbox : /

It's really too bad that the Lumias still don't have Internet sharing enabled. Renders it quite worthless for me since my phone is my only source of Internet connectivity. (my roommate never paid the unifi bill)

I never attempted to Bluetooth pair my phone with the laptop. Seems kinda pointless. I also have an iPad though so it needs my phones hotspot to go online. either way I'll wait for Gen 3 windows phone before upgrading

I might have considered getting the Lumia if it had internet sharing. Total deal breaker for me. If I didn't have internet sharing, I would have missed my flight because the retarded AirAsia mobile app cannot doesn't support WinPho, not even the web version. Hotspotting for my iPad saved me hundreds of bucks.

we all have our WP7 1st time also doesnt have internet sharing, couple of update until internet sharing available. lumia will same get the internet sharing , not worry.

But that would mean that my laptop and ipad will be useless until they enable it... cry.gif

Though i rarely use my laptop nowadays, it's still necessary for several tasks because of how restrictive wp7 and ios are. There are just some things that can't be done. Even simple things like creating new photo albums is too troublesome without a lappy because facebook app is just full of bugs which make uploading impossible

wp7 facebook integrated you dont even need FB Apps to do photo upload. simply shoot and upload.
Photo management is neat and simple , all facebook photo you uploaded will appear under Photo hubs, you can even reply comments on the same page under photo hubs. you can also read or reply any incoming comments straight away from your Home screen METiles.

Not quick sharing lar. I'm talking about albums, which are extremely hard to organize on a phone. Its just not worth to choose pics, set privacy, resize, touch up etc. Especially when half the photos come from a separate camera. Luckily i only do this occasionally

how to put this...

the thing is like this :

I never own a smartphone b4, so when i actually plan to go for Lumia 800, I mention on FB that I will go and Q up at pavilion for the lumia 800.

then there comes the comment from my friends who is using IOS and Android. both actually join force (!) and bash the windows mobile is a piece of crap + no future due to lack of apps and users.

according to them, the usability of win mobile is not practical due to the lack of customization and lumia 800 is not flashable like what can be done by ipon and android phone.

and both of them are so sure that I will be so sorry and regret for getting the Lumia 800 ... T__T

to be fair, their argument do sounds logic enuf cuz what they using now are the mainstream, so for sure the app's are abundant . but does that really makes the Lumia 800 with meego sxxks?

well, i'm using Lumia now, I dont care much but still deep in my heart, i'm not quite sure bout the future of my Lumy...

if they still call it windows mobile then it's hard to treat them seriously because it's windows phone. Android may have a lot of apps but I found android to be laggy and crashes all the time. The experience feels like beta software on a device unsuited to handling so much multi tasking. It was so terrible for me I sold off my android in 3 months. Was totally fed up of it lagging and crashing.

IPhone is good though.

Regarding the ie9 thing from the other lumia thread, ie9 mobile doesnt support swipe gestures unlike safari and android's nameless browser. This is a bit of a disadvantage and ms should be working to get this in for ie10 hopefully.

However ie9 does follow web standards and a properly coded standards compliant site should work perfectly well on ie9. I've had few problems with it so far.

For me, my rating for mobile OSes are as follows:

1. WP7 (Pros: Most fluid and stable) (Cons: Most incomplete and most restrictive)
2. iOS (Pros: Best ecosystem) (Cons: Apps can be unstable, integration is poor)
3. Android (Pros: Most customisable and capable and has most features) (Cons: Laggy, feels like beta software, UI feels like a random mishmash of stuff)
4. Symbian (Pros: It actually crashes less than Android) (Cons: Extremely laggy, unstable, unintuitive and confusing)

My SGS2 never crashes since i bought it on June 2011. Maybe you got the cheap android phone that's why it crashes. tongue.gif  But I do agree the WP7 on lumia 800 is very fluid & stable. Maybe in 1 more year time when they introduce WP8 it can beat Android already.
*
I guess that's why the SGS2 is so highly rated. Mine was just just a cheap Galaxy Ace and I must say it was a horrifying experience. Cheap shouldn't mean crash all the time. After all, even low end windows 7 desktops run nicely.

For other models, even my friend's SGS1 was laggy. So I guess the experience for every single model can be vastly different

Guys, is there any apps that can check data usage ? I can't find any of them =x
*
Uhh... you can't. WP7 is still kinda new, so it is lacking a lot of basic functionality like data tracking, full USSD starcode support, call blocking, bluetooth transfers and a few other things. However, it is rumoured that we'll see all these features for WP8 which should launch around the same time as windows 8.

Any 1 of U guys using digi data connection?
Is that any problem using whatsapp with digi
Connection?

I got an issue here.
When I run my whatsapp with 3g. Sometimes happen that when I receive notification, but i cannot view it. Whatsapp cannot load the msg.

I tried with my fren maxis data connection. My whatsapp working fine.
It only happen when i use digi data connection.

Sorry for my poor English

DiGi's 3G connection is general is just very poor. You can have full 5 bar HSPA but timeout on absolutely every website you visit. It happens from time to time but often enough to be an extreme annoyance.
