QUOTE(xcen @ Feb 6 2012, 06:43 PM)
I'm using Gmail to store all my contacts (coz my Hotmail is screwed up with a lot of inaccurate infos created by my friends and also I added a lot of people I don't really know in WLM). I can confirm everything syncs nicely and perfectly, whatever you do on your phone will reflect nicely back into your gmail account.

Using Gmail with the native email client on WP7 is a bliss too, so no worries there. The amazing thing is I switch on push notifications for 4 emails accounts + around 10 apps for my battery life will always last me the entire day with about 2 hours of heavy web browsing. Using Samsung Omnia 7, which is a 1st generation phone which is supposedly less battery-efficient compared to the new generation WP7 like Nokia Lumia.
*
WP7.5 have....push notification...email client? o.o

*patiently wait for Lumia with keyboard to be released by Nokia, missing the design so muuuccchhh*

Don't know if I used the terms right, basically I was talking about the push email that came with WP7.
*
IIANM...push notification something like...when there is new email only the email client do the sync.....not interval sync

The Malaysia Live ID situation is NOT GOOD.

Please read this old guide
http://www.marauderzstuff.com/PermaLink,gu...5b6b64bdfa.aspx

and decide wheter you still want to set Malaysia region on your Live ID or not.

My recommendation is DON'T, there seems to be some bugs in it.

i believe marketplace for msia had been announced few days before lumia launched date

That is correct, with a Malaysian account, you can buy stuff in RM and easily link your payment options.

The problem here is that you would completely lose the ability to even try Xbox Live games cause the while category is disabled for Malaysian accounts.
*
oh fug, so that's where the problem is...damn
somebnody tweet @nokiamy regarding this lul

It can work offline, download the maps and voice navi. Offline disadvantage, some places may not able to search.
*
Nokia Maps offline have all the streets name in Malaysia map..
If you cannot find your landmark, find the streets name

You need to go to

1) Samsung Booth, go try SGS2, SGNote, Galaxy Nexus. Place I can reccomend : Gardens, Lowyat Plaza
2) Apple Store, go try iPhone 4S and perhaps iPad 2 too just in case. Place I can recommend : Gardens, Lowyat Plaza
3) Nokia Store, go try Lumia 800, 710, Nokia N9 too just in case. Place I can recommend : Gardens, Lowyat Plaza.

Better you try it out at Gardens, all shops above are next to each other, lol.

today i went to test SE Xperia Arc S and Nokia Lumia 800, no doubt that Lumia 800 wins hands down on the smoothness of the phone
*
lol..Xperia Arc S is an epic fail product at its price range in Malaysia right now

the design of Arc S is nice but not the performance, therefore i am in a dilemma now. hahaha
*
Xperia Arc S outer design might be good, but from my xperience with Xperia pro, the 3 buttons are prone to coating-damage in long run if you use it too much.

anyway, by holding 'back' button, you can see what's in the background...is this consider as multitasking, like symbian? or those apps in the background will close automatically?

I certainly enjoy the longer battery life.
*
my point is, you can never idle your 3G connection, hence put your phone with Edge will let your phone idle longer than 3G.

or you might want to use offline profile, not sure if WP7 have this or not as its available on N9, N8 and the rest of symbian phone

I do enjoy much better battery life when i put my phone idle on 3G connection just like what andy said. Tested last night till this morning only drop 5-8% on the battery level.
*
humm, true, but better put your phone in "offline" profile..gonna make your battery last longer from night till morning laugh.gif

It is not a software bug but a feature.  They do plan for a offline version in the near future.

in my point of view..its a bug, or 'incomplete' . offline drive GPS + maps had been very powerful selling point for Nokia phone
