The chief designer talks about how his team design the N9 and Lumia 800.

I think my Lumia's busted..  Battery life seems to be extremely sucky for me and this on standby.  Charged phone to full last night and disconnected from charger at 3am, now my battery status is reading 51%.  The only thing it has been used for this morning is the alarm clock.

Firmware: 1600.2483.9107.11501
Location services, wifi, bluetooth all off.  Carrier data on.  It's linked to hotmail, messenger, gmail and xboxlive.

According to its specs, it's supposed to be able to go on standby in 3G mode for 300+hours.  What type of standby time are you guys getting on average?
*
Yes, this is about right... a smartphone nowadays can barely last 12 hour if you treat it as a smartphone (Data on, light browsing, tweeter, FB, checking email).

Mine is about the same, 9 am left charger, warning came around 12am at night..

i think is something similar to what iOS did.. it will pause the app when touch the start button.. and when you launch back the app.. then the app will continue from where is pause.. correct me if i'm wrong...

Don't you just love the design of the OS ? "Task Killer", anyone ? :-)

That's what I like of the wp7 very straight forward you want to find everything about example James

You go to people hub > James > you get everything about him like photos, tweets, Facebook updates, even link to direct chat with them.

Then if u wanna know everything about your updates just go to me.

I cannot agree more. This is by far the best features I like about the OS.

Hi guys, was playing the lumia 800 in the nokia store and i found the phone pretty cool, especially its windows os and integrated features. However, those are only first impressions..mind if i ask how's your experience using the phone overall? Is it worth buying? I'm really considering it now especially since its cheaper than say galaxy S2 or nexus.
*
I will skip the goods since you know them.

Bugs/Cons :-

1. Sometimes cannot end-call and the phone will restart
2. No Tethering
3. No Viber/Skype
4. Incoming Call will only vibrate at the beginning of a ringtone. So if you have a 37 secs ringtone, the phone will only vibrate every 37 secs. By that time, either the telco already cut you off or your will might have already gone in to the Voicemail.
5. Not many apps but the apps are properly QCed like iOS. So you get the consistent UI and experience, compare to Android Apps.

Above are the few points that I dislike...but there is nothing perfect in this world.

it works i just bought carbon that way using singapore region the question is does malaysia and singapore after converted will be the same price. If yes its alright
*
If you are going to play with the region thing, why not switch your region to US and enjoy the Zune Pass ? 14 days free trial and 9.99 USD monthly for unlimited music download...they carry tons and tons of music and I think is well-worth the money.

Yes, is DRM protected, so it will ties to your LiveID in Windows Phone.

Can't change tried many times via Xbox, billing it shows country Singapore. There no drop down box so whatever to change
*
Yes, you need to create a brand new LiveID which you must choose a US address and your own Malaysia Credit Card. That will work.

you are not alone. i leave it doing nothing also draining like mad

I notice the culprit is the 3G connection...if I off the 3G and purely on WIFI, one hour deplete like 1-2%. If I on 3G, one overnight 40% gone...
