If you are not good at rooting, Note is not going to impress you that much.
- Touch Wiz is crap.
- Had serious bugs and performance issues which affected the battery life A LOT. If you want to wait for Samsung to release a bugfix, you have to wait till you are old. I finally fixed it on my own by changing the kernel

Once that was done, i was happy with my Note, but still sold it off because I felt it was overpriced and thers's nothing special except for the large screen. There are many other large screen Android phones (4"++) which can give me similar experience for less money.

Has anyone done a comparison of Lumia 800 with N9? I just need to know 3 things :
- comparison of battery life
- comparison of push emails (any delays or almost instant, especially Gmail?)
- comparison of integration (which one is better e.g. contacts, Fb, Twitter etc).

Want to ask... I just realised when I sync my google account (which has all my contacts since i used Android)... I notice that the Lumia doesnt sync all the numbers....

for example.. most of my contacts has more than 2 numbers-3 phone numbers under the same Name...

When sync ... It only show one of the number while the rest of the number hilang... This is a real issue for me as I start to get a lot of call/sms which I dont know who they are (eventhough I used to have their numbers. to .. Anyway fix this?
*
you still have your Android phone? Best is to transfer contacts via bluetooth. It will exactly transfer from A-Z without any issues.

I oso kena.

I called them up yesterday.

The customer service said maxis charged RM0.05 for every 10kb used if i remember it correctly.  vmad.gif

1MB already RM5.
10MB = RM50.
20MB = RM100.

Can reach 20MB within few minutes if constantly downloading something at 3G (HSPDA) speed.

how is this phone? better then 4s and S II

Cannot be compared that way. All I can say is, this Lumia has its own style.

Some might like it and some may not. It is a matter of getting used to, especially Metro UI (tile).

Android definitely has force close issue, although I've never seen it happening for call function (unless you use custom rom, a half baked one).

I have used many Android devices (6-7) and I can see force close error within 24 hours after using the phones.

I am having a problem with my Nokia Lumia 800 where it auto disconnect from WiFi once the phone is in sleep/standby mode. I did not activate battery saver and I realised it because I have push email set up and it only notify me when I start using the phone. What could possibly be wrong?

I like the tok tok sound whenever we unlock/lock the phone and while typing something. How nice if there is haptic feedback for keyboard...

Query again..
How to delete or rename documents that i create n saved on phone?
On Google, all expln on SkyDrive, mine is on phone.
*
Open office > Swipe to locations > select phone > hold the doc that you want to delete and you will see that option.

I don't see the option to rename. Only way that I see is to save as a different one and delete this current document.

The battery drain seems to only effect when you have data connection.

When I don't use any SIM card by on WIFI all the time, there's no issue with battery drain.
*
That is because when your phone goes to sleep mode, the WiFi gets disconnected. It is actually a bug where even you set the WiFi to connect always, it will still get disconnected.

Probably that is the reason for the battery to last longer. Mine can last for about 1 day ++ (max 1.5 days) only and I assume that the battery life could be worse if the WiFi bug is fixed.

QUOTE(doomx @ Mar 7 2012, 01:21 PM)
so meaning cannot simply change sim card like that? this is quite a serious problem considering something that has been hyped again and again and they overlooked this problem? No internet connectivity nevermind, i couldnt even call out or received any calls. not to mention my sms was delayed for a good 10 mins before receiving it.
*
I was also having the same problem (unable to make calls etc but can receive calls. Not sure abt sms) but I didn't change sim cards. It just happened. I thought it was my sim problem but when I tried in other phones, it worked. As for Lumia 800, it didn't work even after I restart my phone. Finally I have to format my phone. Another bug.

My lumia just went dead. Turn it off and its sleeping forever sigh

It happened to me once, 1 week ago. Charged for 30 minutes (thought battery low) but still cannot turn on. Then pressed something and it started to vibrate....and finally on.

I think it is top volume + power. Not sure, forgot already.

I would like to share a tip here for anyone who is using Lumia 800 to connect with Unifi wifi. The internet speed from PC is fast but your Lumia 800 is slow, I am not sure who encounter the same problem like me, but a little change at your unifi router will solve the issue. By default, unifi router is using WPA2-PSK, AES key and WPS enabled. After changing it to WPA-PSK, TKIP and disable WPS, your Lumia 800 internet speed will be fine, no lag for  internet radio.

Got this from GSMArena discussion :

QUOTE
1.Open Windows Registry Editor by typing regedit in your start menu
2.Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSB¬
3.Perform a search for ZuneDriver
1.The search should yield a result similar to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSB¬VID_045E&PID_04EC&MI_006&27ffd631&am¬p;0&0000Device ParametersWUDF
4.Click up one level to the Device Parameters key
5.Change ShowInShell from 0 to 1
6.Change PortableDeviceNameSpaceExcludeFromShell from 1 to 0
7.Change EnableLegacySupport from 0 to 1
8.Change EnableDefaultAutoPlaySupport

VOILA! plug in your phone with the USB cable & connect it to your PC. Mass Storage enabled...no more ZUNE
