Air and streets are cleaner in Singapore actually from my experience.

Seriously though, they get all the new phones first.

Nokia's hardware is good, but I think Windows Phone OS needs to be more beautiful and functional. Make it more like desktop Windows: let me change the wallpaper, add screensaver, file manager, etc.

My wishlist for Windows Phone
- Copy music without using Zune. Use open standard like USB or even Microsoft's MTP. I mean even iPhone supports MTP, a Microsoft format, to transfer images.
- Support more media formats natively. Since Microsoft likes to boast that it integrates a lot of built-in funtionality, they should make Windows Phone a media powerhouse that can play almost any format (OGG, MP3, FLV, WAV, AVI).
- I want more customization options for the homescreen at least. Otherwise my phone doesn't feel as personal, since it's like everybody else's phone. I mean even my iPhone 4 lets me change wallpaper.
- Free and open SDK. Microsoft wants more developers? They should give an Express version of their compiler/SDK for free (like their desktop Windows) and let people write and install their own applications on their phone without needing jailbreak/chevron.

Yes the tools are free but the developer and market license to deploy to devices is not. Since it is essential to test on hardware, Microsoft should just give that ability for free.

One reason why Google's Android grew so fast is that you can create your own programs and deploy to your any phone for free by just copying the program APK to your phone via USB/Bluetooth.

Is Windows Phone 7 upgradable to Windows Phone 8?

Not surprised, since the price is the same even if you queue. Compared to the iPhone and SGS2 launches, this phone isn't as popular or well-known.

If it was iPhone 5 or SGS3, I guarantee some people would take leave just to attend.

Does anybody know if Nokia 800 (or whatever the latest version of Windows Phone is) has universal search? E.g. iOS/Android I can search all my contacts/notes/email/messages from 1 search box.

I like the magenta one, even though it seems the most feminine. Black looks sexy but it's like every touch screen phone has a black colour. Cyan looks nice too though.

I wish they had the white color just announced.

I thought Mango supported Internet Tethering?

Until tethering is supported, then this is a deal breaker for me. Love the design of the Lumia 800 compared to the iPhone, but I don't have internet access at home right now (just moved) and I've been using tethering to get my laptop to connect to the net.

To be frank with you, I can't ditch my laptop I need it to play games (Skyrim, TF2) so I can't ditch it. Also I prefer surfing on a laptop, the desktop browsers are way better and have Flash.

I may buy the Lumia 800 as my main phone once Nokia adds tethering though.

No, always use reason and be logical about your purchases. A phone can't make you unique. They may have good points in their bashing, not because they are common.

At present, no. Lumia may have a more integrated social hub but it's not something essential that can't be replaced with an app. Many things still missing from the Lumia: tethering, video calling, and the 4S's camera is much better.

Nokia said tethering would be available soon for the Lumia 800... 2.5 months ago. That's why I'm quite disappointed with Nokia, their idea of soon is too slow.

Lumia 800's lack of a front camera is also another dealbreaker for me.

I was only comparing the Lumia 800 and the iPhone 4S. The Nokia N8 is a totally different model that runs Symbian and has a 12MP camera.

Yes, iOS you need to install Facebook/Twitter separately, but every other 3rd party iOS application can launch and access those applications using iPhone URL Schemes.. The integrated hub in the Lumia 800 may be nice, but ultimately is there anything you can't do with an app (post status/image/URL) ?

It's Nokia specific. Their Lumia 900 already has tethering, and Mango supports tethering, it's just that they for some reason haven't added it to the Lumia 800.

It's built-in, but disabled by Nokia. There's no app I know of currently that can let you tether on the Lumia 800.

I may purchase a Lumia in the future when they Microsoft/Nokia get their act together.
Just not now since the current OS and Lumia 800 doesn't fit my use case scenario.

Nokia purposely disabled it. Supposedly many carriers requested.
But doesn't make sense why the Lumia 900 has it.
