Nokia has announced the launched of the Nokia 610, a new budget Lumia handset at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Called by Nokia "The perfect introduction to Windows Phone" the new device will have a metallic edge, come with the Windows Phone 7 operating system.
In a move to keep the cost down the specs will be pushed down as well with Microsoft announcing at the same time that it will be dropping the minimum spec requirements for Windows Phone 7. That in the real world means less memory (256MB compared to 512MB) and a slower processor from Qualcomm.
However that hasn't stopped Nokia bundling in all its dedicated WP7 software including Nokia Drive, Nokia Music, and Nokia Transport.
The Nokia Lumia 610 will cost 189 Euros and launch before June. It will be available in Magenta, Cyan, White, and Black.

http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/44613/noki...ease-uk-releaseNokia has announced that it will be bringing the Nokia Lumia 900 to the UK. Aside from the LTE support the phone will be the same according to Nokia.
The announcement was made at the company's press conference in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress.
Just like the Nokia Lumia 900 in the US on AT&T the new global model will come with a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen, will sadly only initially be available in the US and become the country's flagship Windows Phone 7 leading the charge alongside the HTC Titan II on AT&T.
The new model on the design stakes is virtually identical to the Nokia Lumia 800, coming in a polycarbonate case in black and cyan. The Yanks might not be getting the Lumia 800, but they will be getting a phone that looks the same, only bigger.
That means that the screen and phone's components slip into the same case design, however different to the Lumia 800 is both the positioning of the micro SIM slot and the Micro-USB.
The micro SIM slot is in a slightly different location, while the Micro-USB is no longer hidden by panel as on the Lumia 800. It is still on the top of the device, however it might make it much easier to create a docking station for the device. There is also a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera and rear facing camera. Both offer a 28mm focal length.
Inside the phone is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor and still comes with the same 8GB of storage.
UK operators have yet to confirm who will be stocking the phone.
