The urgency of the paramedics is appalling. When they see him motionless and unresponsive, the first thing to do is to check whether he is breathing. If he isn't, CPR needs to be initiated and him intubated there and then.
The brain only lasts 4 minutes without oxygen. So, he is most probably already dead by the time he reached the ambulance. doh.gif

Opinion from a motorsport fan ... just my dua sen.

The tered seems to derailed a bit ... from the video that showed that the on-track temporary marshall/track medic (not steward as someone wrote) mishandling the situation, which might or might not had added/contributed to the seriousness of Marco's injury which ended in fatality ... to people who wrote about accidents in motorsports are inevitable, thus stop blaming anybody.

As the Big Boss has already spoken, the main issue is, it's unbelievable the proper procedure wasn't followed. Expert or no expert, it's common sense to avoid aggravating the injury already sustained ... especially when one's not an expert, which leads to ... if the track medics in the captured video are really trained medically, the way they acted, it's inconceivable!

Some people said, if don't move, then leave him on the hot track surface or else other bikes will crash into him again? Non-racing fans' comments, I guess. As maranello55 already repeated more than once, there's a purpose for every color of flag during races. RED = STOP, immediately, no need to go around the circuit to get back to the pit. It's not yellow flag. So, the track medics should know that there's no rush to retrieve or pull Marco's injured body to the side of track WITHOUT first accessing the injury. There wasn't any danger of petrol-tank exploding, was there? (in which case, it's understandable to move elsewhere quickly)

Did they really underwent training or they just watch previous racing accidents where track marshall rush here n there to clean up the track (when the race wasn't red-flagged)? Shadow Kun asked about medic car ... in F1, there's a medic car (manned by an official full-time medical professional, n a fast driver) usually a fast supercar, kinda like a recon, to get to the scene of the accidents quickly before the ambulance in order to access the situation and recommend the action taken when support arrives.

So, the main contention is how much training was the 'track medics' given by the organizer? If the organizer did perform their part, then who could be held accountable if the autopsy shows the cause of death could be traced back to the drop? I guess we'll have to wait for the formal inquiry report. Until then, watching the video again ... haih, memang memalukan. Marco 'might' had been fatally injured before being moved (judging from the crash video), but don't lah add to it.

fan of the sports....i have my own opinion after years following it. No harm intended.  smile.gif
Listen and respect to this senior's opinion.

QUOTE(PVCpipe @ Oct 25 2011, 03:59 PM)
its not our fault la....  its the motogp fault coz no cincai2 giv advice when we build the track
Sepang International Circuit is the designed in mind for F1. It's the 1st circuit to be allowed to use F1 in its name. Dunno why now it's not officially called Sepang F1 International Circuit any longer, or it still is? And IMHO, ur other comments are quite invalid, sorry.

QUOTE(Alviano @ Oct 25 2011, 04:46 PM)
Maybe can at least google what to do with "first aid for neck injury" before making funny comments.
I thought not to touch the victim with suspected neck injury and wait for expert is the things that kept being taught in first aid even in primary school.
The injured neck or spine will cause permanent damage and even death if not handled properly.  Not to mention another fall.
Luckily, more than several do know the proper procedure to treat major injury, else I dun wanna be involved in a major accidents (but recoverable) on Malaysian roads.

somemore wanna insult Super Sic .. u insensitive dame

wha i confuse now SIC is tat guy or SIC is Sepang International Circuit?
supermoto successfully trolled ... some.
It does seem tragically fated (for those who believed in it), ... that Super Sic won his 250cc championchip 1st at Sepang ... and then ironically met his lowest end here too, altho going out while doing what he like best, racing ...

I just hope safety in all motorsport will still improve a thousand fold. After a lull of minor accidents only (excluding last week's Dan Wheldon's fatal accident, and Robert Kubica's side-rally, and Massa's concussion...I guess I know more about F1 only), we forgot how dangerous these sports could still be.
