1. what do u think of this car?is it worth buying?
Good, and yes.

2. will it be able to sell off in the future since it is a diesel engine?
Why not? Diesel engine are built to last.

3. how is the fuel consumption rating?is it better than most of the currently available 1.8L and 2.0L cars in the market?
Fuel consumption... Are you comparing a diesel to a gasoline powered? No doubt the TDCi will churn out more mileage compare to any gasoline powered out there in the same cc range. Good daily driving torque with excellent fuel consumption. Even driven in a sprinted style will still churn out better FC than a gasoline engine. biggrin.gif

4. will it be good for daily city driving and as family car?
Of course. Diesel engine are perfect for daily driving = good FC. With that amount of torque, you wont be fetching all of your family members in a car that struggle to move.

Come on guys, comparing a TDCi to a VIOS is so doh.gif

Want better driving experience? Get a 320d. Recently TT with a bunch of diesel head from BMWCM, i was amazed by the power in stock terms.

but i read somewhere biodiesel is more clean but no power and worse FC compared to normal diesel...worse still it will cause more slugs built up in the engine and breaks down rubber components faster
*
Biodiesel is more "clean" in eco terms. They have poorer cleaning power, poorer lubricity properties, give less power hence higher FC. The poor cleaning power cause your engine, injectors and fuel pump to wear out faster.. I see no point going for B5 since they have the same price, unless you are serious on going green lah..

no wonder I  felt slight better performance when fuel up with normal diesel during my outstation.

You guys can try the B5 and report back if you don't believe what i've said earlier. Try doing it the same driving style and you'll notice performance & FC difference. biggrin.gif

actually, i'm not too sure if it is even green in the first place
with less power and higher FC, you end up using more fuel

wonder what offer would the tdci focus will have mid next year

:-( the technician say everything is fine... ask me to try longer and if problem still same at.the.coming service... complain again at that time... and wtf the wiper only warranty for 1 time only...

got cranking sound when you trying to start engine? highly doubt it's the starter problem.

glow plug indicator comes and goes off? when does this occurs? cold start in morning?

are you using any tuning chip? loosen commonrail sensor connector can lead to similar problem like this. "able to crank, but the engine just wont go alive unless you've tighten back the loose connector."

i think high chance are weak battery, since diesel engine require higher amp to crank. Using maintenance battery? How long have you been with your TDCi? When was your last battery change?

is the glow plug suppose to appear every time or only when cold start ?
*
everytime. but after warm up, you will notice the glow plug "indicator" disappear faster than cold start.

QUOTE(rcracer @ Oct 27 2011, 10:18 PM)
as far as i know with the new commonrail diesel system, because the pressure is so high and control is so accurate, the glowplugs aren't needed anymore unless the temp drops below -5 degrees.
*
correct. mine doesn't even require to warm up. one crank terus up n go !

I totally agree with you... I been in technical line so long and he try to use this trick on me... Swt...

Oh he shown me the battery reading for my battery its 14.0 so he said is fine...
And yes I alway sit in the car awhile b4 I turn off the engine b4 I turn off the engine...

And yes I do turn the key to II until the ding ding ding sound goes off b4 I turn to III to crank the engine...

Oh... em... oil pump... O.O serious? Just got my car 3 says wor... only did 800 to the car... omg...

The worst part... when I accelerate after I stop at traffic lights it jerks very mildly...

QUOTE(electron @ Oct 28 2011, 09:18 AM)
regarding the battery, if you measure it after a drive, like going to the workshop, chances are the reading will be ok
once you leave it overnight or for a day or two, then the reading would be diff for batteries that is approaching EOL

battery issues in new car, though not common, is not unheard of
especially for CBU cars
*
+1 because the alternator has almost fully charge the battery.

ah, he never reply my question. Or worst the immobilizer activated after a certain time frame making the car unable to start until they deactivated the immobilizer? laugh.gif
